My MacBook Pro arrived this morning and so far so good. Been absolutely flawless. Been putting it through its paces and its silent. Doesn't feel like its overheating either. Rather happy so far :)

Happy with my temps:

You guys really monitor the temps!?!? I have never done that with any computer!
I love this machine. Last night it was getting hot, but I had also been playing Frontierville for over an hr before it started getting hot, and it's a pretty graphic game.
This pro is fast, pretty, the screen in beautiful, and I can't wait to get it hooked up to that 20" monitor.;)

I don't think that most people computer-savvy enough to monitor temps/regulate usage etc. are spending much time on Frontierville...

As a more constructive comment - there are very easy ways to monitor your temps. Just download iStat Pro and use it as a widget. When it's getting hot - you can check on the temps to make sure you're not doing anything that will damage the machine.

With all that being said - my brother's late '10 MBP, and my girlfriend's mid '09 MBP is fine.

Flash is pretty processor intensive - so running a Flash game for extended amounts of time will inevitably make the computer run a little hot

Mine is running a little hot, so I am getting it looked at by Apple on Sunday.

If they can't fix it on the spot (ie, apply thermal paste) I will go buy some for myself, and then apply it at home...

My 15" 2.0 high-res glossy MBP is perfect! My first Mac ever. It's fun just to use surfing the web. Love the backlit keyboard, the aluminum body, the trackpad is awesome. Can't wait to enjoy it with software! I'm a guitar player and have been hoping to do some home recording on my PC for years. Very excited to try Garage Band.

Soooo, was that a dig at me? Are you always a jackhole, or just once in awhile?!:D

I just don't see the NEED to monitor that stuff, and I found it surprising is all. Dang.

- I find the matte display very good! I don't have a Glossy 2011 MacBook Pro to compare, but perhaps I'll walk into a store with my computer and do a comparison sometime. I am coming from a 3-4 year old DELL Precision with a glossy (though not glass) CCFL display, so it is a huge step up with this MacBook Pro.

I really enjoy being able to see the screen properly. On my glossy DELL I often had a hard time focusing on the content - I kept seeing all sorts of reflections. It was quite annoying, but now I'm happy. :)

Also, as I have said, I find the silver bezel better looking than the standard black. A nice detail is that the bezel is not just grey plastic - it is aluminum like the rest of the computer. And fingerprints cannot be seen as easily on metal as they can on glass (the bezel of the standard glass display gets very dirty with fingerprints).

This display is highly recommended!

Now for some pictures, as per Cully411's request:

I couldn't get attachments to work... I apologize for the delay.

I'll just chime in and say that my 13" i7 runs like a dream.

A side note:
I was considering an apple SSD, but I didn't get that and I am perfectly happy. I had to really lean in and listen hard to actually hear the HDD. :)
It is not as fast in starting stuff, but for me that is not important. A few extra seconds to start a wordprocessor means little when you sit 2-3 hours writing.

Always! Actually I was more poking fun at Frontierville than anything...you've gotta have a sense of humor about that :p . If I'm being honest, I played Pokémon Blue for an hour and a half yesterday
