Is anybody really going to buy a Apple Watch and actually use it ? I just don't see the point of it . I think a watch should just be a watch . This seems to me to be a apple newton like product . Even though I still think the Apple Newton is awesome .

Probably. I'm pretty sure I want a stainless one. It's really going to come down to pricing.
Then buy a regular watch.
I can see why people want it because it is a apple product , but I really do not think it is going to be very successful , just look at the android watches there basically the exact same thing and nobody uses them . I do not think the technology is good enough yet to make a great smart watch device . I think apple made the watch because people are saying they can not innovate anymore which I think is not true at all just look at the retina imac and the mac pro those are very cool . The apple watch looks like a rushed product , I doubt Steve Jobs would have released a watch this early because it is just not ready yet . It looks to me like a beta device . I love apple and there products but I just wish they would focus more on the mac products .

People said the same thing about the iPod when it was released.
Apple made the watch because they want to make money. The retina iMac is cool, but hardly innovative. I also like the Mac pro, but it really does make a lot of compromises.
The original iPhone was announced 6 months prior to the day it shipped. The hardware and software were so unstable that Steve Jobs had a special routine he had to follow and he used multiple phones during the presentation just so nothing went wrong.
Mac products don't make Apple as much money. They've found their cash cow and I can't really fault them for sticking with it.

It's everything I had wanted and pondered it could be over the last year, year and a half.... and more. If you don't see any purpose in the features your vision is narrow.
It augments your phone and makes daily life a notch simpler in many ways. answering calls easily, ease of directions, ease of notifications without having to whip your phone out of your pocket every time, all the health app stuff.
Sounds like you didn't watch the Apple promo video or are pretending like those features don't matter.

While that is the lowest rumored starting price (and most recent) there are other credible rumors as high as $1000 for the SS. However there is NO chance of a starting price (remember starting price will be with the fluoroelastomer band too) at just $400. With stainless, sapphire, and a ceramic coated back it will definitely push the SS will above a $50 premium over the Sport.

I am not keen on wearing a watch and so far I am not that impressed. It appears to be a typical intro product for Apple. We don't know the actual prices and it will most certainly lack features with the first gen. So I will wait until this has "developed into something more" to even consider it because right now this watch offers nothing of value for me.
I still think the Apple watch is going to be a failed product . This is not reinventing the watch like they did with there other products I just do not see it going anywhere . Maybe I am wrong but I just do not think it is going anywhere it is just not a finished product and I think it is very much a beta product .

Ironically, failure and limited production run would make it more desirable for some watch/apple collectors, like the g4 cube. And it's not going nowhere, it'll go in to my watch display case 😎
People also expected the iPod, iPhone and iPad to be the next Newton. You're sounding like a broken record.

To be fair, there were obvious and good uses for those products.
People wanted to have music to take around with them and always have done since transistor radios then walkmans
People have wanted to have a communications device, and if it can also play music and take photo's even better.
People have for years been dreaming of tablet thin computers, having been shown off in Sci Fi films for decades, something small, thin and light to do things on that are too hard to do on a tiny screen.
With the watch, people have spend the last couple of decades getting rid of them, and stopping wearing them, as they now carry the phone which makes the watch redundant for many.
Other than it not being on your wrist, the phone does everything a watch can do and a million other things.
Not only that, you pretty much still need to carry the phone to use the watch.
Unlike the others it's not it's own product, just an accessory.
Whilst I'm sure it will sell to many, it's not such a MUST HAVE device as the others.
Anyone got a link to the article which described that keynote. Was a really interesting read. I believe they hard coded full signal bars into the phone too cause they would keep dropping down to no service every few minutes.
I want a intel based Mac Cube , those things where a work of art . It is too bad the cube failed .

Perhaps you'll be right, but most of what you're saying sounds like the stuff said back in 2001 when the iPod was announced. Read the infamous thread 500 here when you have a chance, it's a hoot!

Apple watch can be seen for a wrist watch as an IPhone is a iterative modernization of a pocket watch I think. As we get more advanced smart watches I think it can become more mainstream and even obsolete pocket phones.
What did Apple just order something like 30-50 MILLION chips for the watch? My guess they have an idea about what the demand will be.
I'll probably buy 2 honestly and use them as my notification/fitness center while the 6 plus will be for web/media consumption.
