So....

the machine is getting steam?....:D

Really wishes Apple initiative dont get more tampered by "exclusive deals" and the same....

:):apple:

i can't help feeling the more Apple advertises, particularly with this much aggression, emails, promotional etc. it obviously seems Apple "wants" us o use this,,,

The aftermath is "no choice...." type of world....

As if guys in local bands can qualify for major credit cards?

Ok, maybe the promoter that has a good credit rating and has a portfolio of acts he promotes.

Come on that is just nonsense. Even with the success of the iPhone and iPad there are still enough smartphone and tablet alternatives around, and credit cards (also contactless) will be around for a good while.

There is ample choice now and with the maturation of each of the product segments that Apple is in, the choice gets ever more wide. Your fear is unwarranted.

The problem is some terminals don't even have symbols and it works just fine! Like the one I've attached.

The 4 dots at the bottom of the screen are another way of indicating NFC. The first dot lit up green means it's ready to take your NFC card - they then light up green like a progress bar when you hold your card over the terminal.

Did Wells Fargo use this "Done" slogan before :apple: Pay or is it to do with the message that appears on the screen?

Yes, we know there is heaps of choice if you only look at it like that, but when a company advertises as vigiously as Apple does, often more than normal, then that tells you that something is up...

Apple expects customers to take this up, it's the only reason why they are "pushing" in many avenues as possible all within a fairly short period of time.

Users would know of Apple Pay now, but the constant emails and or promotions people would get for say even as a courtesy email or video pointing out that : "Hey, you may want to try Apple Pay." is kind of "rubbing it in your face" when you clearly don't want ay part of it..

I dunno about most, but to me, no one advertisers as much as Apple just to get a simple point across.

IF users say no, what make u think they'll say yes if they keep hammering ads in ?

That's all i'm saying. Loosen the rails Apple.

What should be "up" here? Of course Apple wants people to use this, but it is only possible through their devices and not everyone owns them and even if they do not everyone uses or has to use it. Apple Pay is not needed to use the iPhone.

Of course, just ike Ford wants people to drive their cars and Bayer wants people to use Aspirin. Victoria's Secret is all over the place now, but as yet I don't see any people forced to buy their underwear. It is advertising and I see no difference with other companies pushing their product aggressively. Also it is WF doing the advertising here, not Apple.

It is quite easy to refuse to use it. No one is forcing you to do it, and it takes several steps to activate. Apple Pay is not an addiction where people need support to not use it.

Again, there is free choice and sure people will be swayed by aggressive marketing, but you cannot seriously expect any company to stop advertising because people will be unable to refuse the product? If that is your ambition you should focus on banks that offer short term loans at ridiculous interest rates or retailers with pay-later schemes.

I have used it every chance I get. Home depot, Mcdonalds Win-Dixi. Lady at HD was trying to figure out what I was doing. She was clueless as to Apple pay and why i was paying with my phone. Now if Chase would get my Ink care working I would be happy. I have WF but never use that card.

Billboards and commercials used this done slogan for at least a year now.

The problem of why Google Wallet didn't work WAS THE LACK of advertising. People didn't even know about it.

Apple Pay also works with debit.

I've used Apple Pay at least twice a week since it's came out. I have not received anything yet. Do I have to do anything or will just eventually be deposit into my account?

I didn't have to do anything, just use Apple Pay. But it took at least a month for my credit to show up in my account.

I got my iPhone 6 Plus a month ago and still haven't been able to use Apple Pay once. I tried at a McDonalds drive-thru but felt silly making the worker hold the big terminal out the window, and then got nervous I was going to drop my phone while trying to hold the 6+ with one hand and put my thumb on the sensor, so I aborted. I also tried at another store (can't remember which) and the cashier said every attempt he's seen gets denied for no apparent reason and sure enough mine did.

I'm still very excited for this tech, but like Apple Maps it's gonna need a year to mature and get widespread enough. The banks' unwavering support and the desperate need for something more secure than cards will drive this to widespread adoption fairly quickly.

The limiting factors will be the cost of rolling out compatible payment terminals (and the availability of those terminals), and competing interests like CurrentC.

Excellent. 20 bucks! Must use WF Visa card next. Dunno how this slipped past me.

Do you live in the middle of the Sahara desert or something? Even here in Arizona there are at least ten places accepting NFC within a square mile of my office.

Signature Requirements Hopefully to Go Away

Why do I need to "sign" at Whole Foods? I thought by using Apple Pay it would eliminate the need for my signature.
I only have to sign if the amount is over $100 at my store. The reason for the signature is fraud prevention. Hopefully with Apple Pay still being brand new and in its infancy, as the payment services see there are no Apple Pay related disputed charges, they will relax the requirement for a signature and/or a Zip code.

I wonder how long it's going to take for Wells Fargo to make all of their ATMs ApplePay friend. I can't believe I actually had to stick my plastic debit card into the machine, type in my 4 digit pin and hit enter. Imagine walking up to an ATM with you phone, waving it across an NFC plate and seeing money pop out from your bank account? Almost there I hope.

ATMs are heavily regulated and I'm sure this isn't allowed yet under current regulations.
