There is this one...(doh! seems I was late by a couple minutes but this version below is the same as the one above...just newer and smaller):

No independent control is a dealbreaker for me. Also I live in apartments so I have nowhere to plug it outside. But if if I did... dealbreaker.

If it has an internet requirement, that is also a dealbreaker. Why the heck does a command that travels 20 feet from me to the device need to relay to their servers. Too suspicious. Forget that.

No HomeKit is a dealbreaker. Less because of ecosystem convenience and more because of security standards.

+1 on the Meross someone else posted. Have one in a shed, outlets controllable separately. The TP-Link outdoor plug is much better quality and more well sealed off than the Meross one I have. YMMV though maybe mine was made on a Friday.

it’s trivial to connect these things to HomeKit and block off their internet access. I’ve had great luck with adapting the tp-link outdoor plugs, outlets, regular switches and dimmer switches to HomeKit. They’re a lot more quality in their construction than some of the more readily available ones on Amazon. Give them NTP access once in a while and they need no other WAN side communication

Oooo, thanks! My Meross garage door opener is 100x better than the crappy Chamberlain MyQ, and I was looking for an outdoor wifi plug for my pergola lights that works with Alexa and Homekit.

Nice for non-handy people. My wife wanted to control our outdoors decoration/Christmas lights from indoors. I ran some underground conduits, wired an outlet behind the bushes and controlled by a light switch indoors. It costs less than getting a smart outlet and extension cords combo. The downside is I can't turn on the Christmas lights when I'm away from home.

I'd imagine these WiFi enabled outlets would allow me to annoy my neighbors when I'm on vacation.😁 $400 electric bill every December y'all.🎅
You most certainly can turn them on if you are using Homekit.

I might pick up one of these. It has a better price than others I've seen and my WeMo stuff has been pretty reliable for the most part. I have a bunch of switches and outlets and only had a problem once that required a reset.

If that is a concern, Eve might be your best bet.

As for me, I have eero HomeKit router, blocking and monitoring traffic for Belkin:

Seems alright enough to me.

That's pretty neat. I've been considering the new eero WiFi 6 model to create my first mesh network. I actually kind of like the idea that firmware can't automatically update. I've had some home accessories go crazy because they updated their firmware and either it failed during the process requiring me to reset everything from scratch, or it caused major bugs with the update.

I've been using this for a couple months with no issues. Both outlets are individually controlled and show up on the Home app as separate devices.

I also have 2 of these, plus a non-HomeKit dimmer switch that I made into HomeKit via the OSS server software [running on a 24/7 Mac] called HomeBridge. I really like the Meross model above, but wish it allowed the dimmer feature that this has: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z5PFWBX/ HomeBridge setup was insanely easy, so it is nice to be able to control the brightness of the porch lights, but this only has one plug vs the 2 in the MEROSS outdoor plug. I use the MEROSS for items that don't need dimmed.

I purchased one of these wemo outdoor smart plugs earlier this month, to use for controlling outdoor Christmas lights. I also purchased a similar iDevices outdoor smart plug for the same purpose.

The wemo plug has really been frustrating. It is now recognized (listed) by my Home app but is not always controllable. Sometimes the Home app shows it as 'no response', other times it works properly. It is not recognized by the wemo app.

I've had similar issues with the wemo indoor smart plugs and had great difficulty getting them set up. They are still not recognized on my Home app.

I'll keep working on it, but in the meantime I've purchased a second iDevices outdoor plug. The one I had now was quick and easy to set up, and I've had no problems with it.
