I’d say give a week or two. It will be hard to go back down tho…6.3 is not worlds more comfortable
This, that’s the most important advice, best thing is to really try it out for yourself properly. Funny thing is I do think it’s a big diff between them, and 6.3 is clearly more comfortable but with some obvious drawbacks compared to the max.

Exactly this!
I don't know which to get

I was going to get the Pro due to being easier to use and less bulky, but I keep hearing about the bad battery of the Pro and smaller screen...
I accidentally bought the 16 Pro and wondered how I saved a $100 on the 1TB model. Well, cause I bought the wrong model. I used it for a week, and there are some great things about it. I didn’t use it as much. It fit perfectly in my pocket. I could use it one handed. But on the other hand, I still had a 15PM and it just seemed more usable. I want to use my iPhone less. Having an M4 iPad Pro made me realize I need the iPhone way less. However, I still went back to the 16 Pro Max as soon as they had one available in the color I wanted. The battery is great, and I can actually read the text in apps. I set the text/font to second largest, but in apps I cannot read things. So the Pro Max wins out for me.

At this point...its how easy is to travel with, in your pocket etc...battery life..useless since we charge our phones on our cars, home, office and so on. Now even the smaller one gets bigger and bigger for when Apple will introduce the folded phone they will PR the easy to carry out of this world

At least until, they magically find a way to stuff the same battery life in the Pro chassis.
I don't believe they're not able to put larger battery in regular Pro. They just do that on purpose. There are phones like Pixel 9 Pro that are literally almost the same size as 16 Pro and have larger batteries.
Pixel 9 Pro has 4700 mah battery compared to 3582 mah in 16 Pro.

They just don't do that because:
1. weight - iPhones are quite heavy nowadays. Pro Max iPhones are as heavy as some folding phones,
2. if they don't have any groundbreaking new features for new iPhone, they can always make the battery life better so it looks like some new "innovation",
3. they want you to buy Pro Max phone so they get more money. They know people want the best battery life from a phone and they know people will spend money to get it.

I do Not Need the Max anymore, the Battery life of the pro is Great, more than ever before. And the size is much more Portable. But everybody as he requires.
Btw Samsung and Pixel are selling big phones, too, for more Money, nothing Apple Special.

I always justified the max variant to offset the need for an iPad, as it's a 2 in 1 device for me. Sometimes it does get tiresome to have the max. When this happens, I go case less for a bit to reduce weight and footprint until I chicken out again and put the case back on. I have also started using my Apple Watch cellular service as well, leaving the phone at home altogether or leaving it in a bag/car etc. Using your watch as your only connected device on trips is actually quite liberating sometimes due to its limitations.

As the title says. I always had smaller phones, never pro max, thought it was to big. Decided this time to go with the max and after 1.5 weeks got the pro thinking that it would be better one handed. Well turns out that one handed use is like 40% worse vs max and I still used the pro mostly two handed which was way worse than pro max due to smaller keys, but oh man did I miss the max screen and battery! So long story short, this is my first max and I am loving it! Anyone else couldn’t decide but stayed with the max?
For me it's as simple as this

Max = Better Battery Life = Better Screen for Two Handed Typing = The Do It All Device Daily.
for me 11 pm to 16 pm is a gigantic leap forward lol in everything you can imagine.

found the 6.3" size meh also as i use two hands to type mostly and in bed i can shift the keyboard to do one handed typing lol on the max... and its only 100$ more for so much more.

What size ipad pro do you have? 11 or 13?

You don’t know what you want!

My preference is a small iPhone for going out and an iPad Mini for iPhone functions + screen consumption at home (I generally don’t do screen consumption when I’m out), but seeing as Apple has gotten rid of small phones and getting rid of smallish/medium phones—if my only choice is between a large iPhone and a larger iPhone, I figure might as well go for a little larger and see if it can also replace my iPad Mini (even if I won’t be making use of its large screen half the time). It’s going to be a real pain carrying that thing around everywhere though. I know because I’ve owned a big phone before. But this time I may try using a cross body fanny pack. I really hate that it’s come to this.

Is possible to make a phone call from the iPad mini?? Had no clue.
My iPad Mini is wifi only, but since I only use it at home on the same wifi as my iPhone, it can make calls via my iPhone—it’s a Continuity feature. One can also make calls on a standalone iPad Mini with cellular, but I believe only with an internet calling service like Google Voice, not with a regular phone number.

Thanks, yeah the Continuity feature.

Do you use the MKB?
I use the iPad Pro way more than the MacBook Pro. Basically, anything I cannot do on iPadOS, I have to do on the Mac. It’s really stupid. To charge this much for hamstrung devices is pointless. But I guess that’s the point, Apple gets away with it as we are all locked into the ecosystem.

I upgraded from the 15 PM, which I thought was the perfect size and weight. Always, had the smaller Pro size before and only went with the 15 PM for the better camera functions. Battery was a big improvement over my previous Pro models and I ended up liking the larger screen too.

Have both the 16 Pro Max and the 16 Pro now and still can’t decide which to keep. Thought it would be easy to go back to the 16 Pro, but at times I do miss the larger screen. I do wish Apple would have kept the PM size/weight same as last year, as the new Pro Max just seems too big/heavy now. (I know not a big difference, but feels like it).

I got the 16 Pro yesterday and have had the 16 Pro Max just over a week now. Have been using them side by side all day and what is interesting after being charged 100% at the beginning of the day, they are both at 80% battery life. Not sure how the smaller can be the same at the PM.

Not sure what I will do. Already sold my 15 PM, so can’t go back to that. Haha.

So which one did you keep then?

I just went from an 11pro to a 16 pro max two days ago, so this phone feels ridiculously big. My first instinct is to go to something smaller, but I still have some time. I did get a case, so it's easier to hang on to know. I do very much enjoy the battery life. It's just a new experience for me.

I kept the 16 Pro. If I had to do it over again would keep the 16 Pro Max just for the battery life alone. I like the size of the 16 Pro, but the Max battery is so much better and it is not even close.
16 battery is very poor
Didn't expect such a drop off tbh

I went back and forth between the two but ultimately settled on Pro Max because of the battery life. If the Pro had the same battery life as the PM it would be perfect.

Are you going to keep it?

I have a 16 max, but if you can't get a day out of a 16 pro time to put it down occasionally.

But you have an iPad
Do you need the better battery that much?
