This is why I love Apple. Made an appointment at my local Apple Store to get the battery in my wife’s 6S plus replaced. The phone was tested and the battery showed exactly as I had already assumed that it was toast. Then I am told the cost to replace the battery is $29 but because they are short on batteries right now that they are giving me a replacement phone for the $29 cost of a battery. This new phone is perfect and the wife is all smiles. She can keep her headphone jack for a year or two longer. Apple I’m sorry for the times I have strayed but I’m onboard for life.

Very true. I think my store prob overbooked the battery stock and of course did this as a good will gesture. The supply of batteries will be tight for more than a few months I’m sure given the $29 price point.

In a way what Apple did, was obviously a rarity, but it was a smart move. They gave you a refurbished iPhone 6s Plus and then they will simply take your device and refurbish it, replace the battery and sell it again. So it's a matter of them not inconveniencing you and they can still turnaround still can sell your old device. But of course every Apple store will vary as well.

Your phone might be in pristine condition to be offered that great deal (externally). I had several replacement encounters too and all have been a pleasant experience. Congrats!

After all the negative press Apple have received lately, it’s good to read something positive. Even though they will refurbish your phone and sell on, they’ve kept up their standards of customer service.
