I'm loving my new ipod touch, and the interface is simple to use. But for the life of me I can't figure out where to put in my network's wep key to access my wireless. I'd really appreciate any help

If you go to settings, general, network, wifi you can then choose the name of your wireless network and when you try to join it it will ask your for the password.

I've tried several times to put my wep key, when it asks for the password. Is their any other way to work around that?

Yeah. You have to put in the CORRECT password ;)

In all seriousness though try changing your router's password or use WPA protection anyway. WEP is not very secure at all.

My network is secured with no SSID broadcast and has the restricted access on. Setting up the pod was very easy.

When I setup the iPod, I just typed in the name of my network and once found, the password box appeared below. Just typed it in, allowed permissions on my router and I was good to go.

Had no issues.

Ipod Touch Wep Config

ACCESS POINT configuration (example)
SSID = MYNET
SECURITY = 64bit WEP
KEY 1 = 61 6E 64 72 65 (note := 'andre' in ASCII)

ITOUCH v. 2.1.1
Name = MYNET
Security = WEP
Password = 'andre'

Works , hence : password WEP are 64bit only and just readable
characters , just with KEY #1 of WEP.

enjoy
