That's true. I often think of saying I will accept it. It's not as if I will send anything before I see the money in my bank.
 
Run away. I nearly got suckered into sending $1500 Cdn via WU for a 23" Apple display. Turns out the guy hijacked a legitimate EBay ID. Unless it's a small insignificant item (less than $100) I never use WU. The best is if the seller accepts credit card directly. This way, if the item is not delivered, the credit card company can freeze that transaction and pursue the seller or merchant.

if the seller agrees to use that service, it's not a fraud. yes, it costs, but less than giving money to criminals 😉 also, it costs "something" to pay via western union, too, so using escrow services shouldn't be too much more.

and never use an escrow company of seller's choice!
