1997 Power Mac 7300/200

(The 2022 Mac Studio base model is a bargain)

Good point- BTW the picture in that post is an earlier 7500 (same case design though).

Mac Pro 1,1s were great value in 2006- US price for the midrange model was $2499, I paid £1861 for mine. MPs got pricey because Intel made Xeons pricey.

My GF had one of those! I used it to surf the internet and use email at 56kbps. I didn't even have my own computer until 2003.

200 MHz processor, 32 MB RAM.

Today, the same amount of money (adjusted for inflation) will get you a Mac Studio Ultra with 20-core CPU, 48-core GPU, and 128 GB RAM.

I bought my first house - New Build in 1965 - Four room with full basement and expansion attic, Cape Cod style in Blackstone, Massachusetts. Cost was $11,680. PIT was $98.00 per month.

Lou

Can you explain to a Norwegian what PIT is?
It's not entirely clear to me.

Back in the day, i could have traded this for a nice cave to live in, no running water and such, but still nice and dry :)
