So I went today with my mom to pick up my macbook (white 2.4) and she was looking at them and asked about the blackbook. I told her that the white one was fine. Well I really like the blackbook about I didn't see spending an extra 200 for color and 90gb hard drive space. Well my mom liked the black as well and like the fact of 90gb of hard drive space. I was paying for just about half if it, the other half my mom said she would pay for it, as a gift for me being accepted to a study abroad program for the summer. So I ended up getting the blackbook! So I'm pumped and I love this thing!! After installing iwork, photoshop and calibrating it.... I love it!!:D:D:D
 
Congrats. My parents liked the Blackbook as well when they went to buy a computer, though I ended up convince them a MBP was more practical. :rolleyes:
 
The BlackBook is awesome, I bought one instead of the white + 250GB upgrade purely because I like it better.

It's fast, pretty light and the storage is brilliant.
 
my mom wanted to go in and get the MBP and I really want the MBP but I do not want a 15.4 screen, anything smaller then that is great! So the MB is perfect.
 
that was awesome for your mom to do. be sure to thank her and repay her with at least good grades. :)

thats pretty sweet. Yeah, i didn't need to spend the extra money for 90 gb so i just got the 2.4 whitebook. The greatest machine ive ever had. Should hopefully last us all a longgg time.

For sure and I love the almost 6 hour battery life.
 
congrats!!! i love the blackbook i wont lie i spent the extra money mostly because i love the look of the black color, the extra hard drive space was nice too, but it was mostly about the color. I love it!
 
For everyone that has 3-4 hour battery...

CALIBRATE IT!! I use it for photo but not only does it look better, I got almost an extra hour of battery life!! I bought one for my PC and it works on mt blackbook. It was 160ish and worth it!!

I assume you are talking about color calibration by your mention of photo use and using it on both your Mac and PC. From that, there is NO WAY color calibrating your LCD has added any extra battery life. Second, calibration on a MacBook is somewhat pointless anyways - it has a 6-bit glossy TN panel.
 
nice! if only my mom were so involved and actually cared about what i get. i like the blackbook over the white one since the white one gets really dirty and gross. the contrast of the apple logo with the black is really nice too :)
 
just get both =)

i know people who have the 1st gen macbook from the first day it came out and there's is still completely white. They just take care of it. I think that happens most when people don't take care of it as much as they should, especially if its there lone machine.

I was watching the time and it bumped about 45 mins. Yes, color. Out of the box it was stark white, now it is very dark and great color.
