Hi all,

I'm using my air as a footage dump - A place to empty my SD Cards onto when travelling.

I'd like to upgrade the 256GB SSD because I fill it up with footage in a single day

Has anyone have first hand experience with running a 1TB or 2TB SSD in their 2013 Air?

This is the adaptor I'm using:

I have a 1TB Intel 600p in my Mac Pro which works a treat, same should work in an Air? I could just buy an external 2.5" HDD but to be honest, for the $200 a 1TB SSD costs I'd rather just do that and save the extra cables and boxes I need to carry...

I have been using an Intel 600p for over a year in an early 2015 13" air with no problem.

I'll be installing an Adata sx8200 pro or Intel 760p in a 2017 air when I receive my Sintech adapter.

I would go with a small Sintech adapter as it may fit better if you use a SSD with chips on both sides.

I recently had a Samsung 970 EVO 2TB NVMe M.2 drive in my 2015 MBA and was completely happy with having this drive in my computer. Had no issues other than reduced battery life (no more 14 hr usage) from the Samsung drive. You should have no issues.

I have since replaced my 970 EVO drive for a smaller 500GB 950 PRO drive. The swap was not because I had any problems running the 970 EVO drive in my MBA. My 5,1 MacPro was compatible with the 970 EVO drive and not the 950 PRO drive so I put the 2TB 970 EVO drive in my MacPro's PCI slot as my new and much faster boot drive.

Details of how I did my upgrade is in this thread:
