What annoys you most about the internet as a whole? Here is what drives me insane:

0/ FACEBOOK and the whole "friends" BS - I dislike this mess of a "social" network with a raging passion. I shall say no more, for I may lose my cool  I'm looking forward to Google+... hope they fix everything that is wrong (and everything about fb IS wrong).

1/ The mass-duplication of information - often OLD information, that some "helpful" soul thinks is a good idea to put on their blog, probably just so that they can say to their peers "ohh *I* have a blog! :D"

Do these people not have eyes to see with? A simple web search often brings up thousands of pages of the same crap that they're about to duplicate... again.

2/ The propagation of incorrect info; an example is the term "brushed metal" when referring to the anodised aluminium used in the Mac. Another example I recall, is someone saying that the iPod touch uses "polished aluminium" - really? Aluminium? Could you not have read the specs or watched a teardown? Okay... whatever you say ;)

3/ I'm not sure if this falls under (1), but the plagiarism of "reviews" and the copy/paste mentality that individuals (or maybe corporations) have towards writing reviews - I can read the same review on thirty or more different sites, with not one character altered

4/ Misinformation, specifically specifications (not FUD, exactly, but this can lead to FUD). I recently read the minimum distance of the macro facility for a certain camera to be 5cm, on 5 different sites (ALL photography "experts"), and bought the camera based upon this "expert" information... and it turned out the macro distance is in fact 20cm! :(

Yes, I should have gone to the mfr site, but it was 4am and I was ON the in depth review page, so I thought they would at least know.

Alright - that's enough - I can feel a raging surge of ranting building up inside, and to cure it, I'm getting off the 'net for now, to make a drink and watch a movie.

Comments? What do you find annoying most?

You've summed up why I hate the internet (sometimes) nicely there, thank you :) FaceBook is absolutely awful. I wish I lived in a time where it wasn't necessary to have it when you're 18 (I'm 18 and don't find out ANYTHING through phone calls/texts anymore, it's all on FaceBook!).

I'm hopeful that Google+ will sort it out! These "circles" so you can sort of people out is a brilliant idea!

This come as close as I could articulate.

what the hell...somehow this seems illegal

Everything is illegal somewhere.

Anyway, it just shows a family not entirely destroyed by nudity taboos and Peter File angst. Animals cuddle too, in the nude. There doesn't have to be a sexual undertone in every display of nude human flesh.
Not everything is porn, though it seems that way.

People that think having Facebook friends (or any kind of internet social interaction) makes them a friendly, outgoing, social person.

Ok I joined google + and am already on FB and really don't see how it is soo much better. some of the arguemnts people use against facebook could be applied to the idea of social networks in general.

Banners and pop-ups that steal my focus away from whatever I'm reading.

When a google-search leads me to outdated tech articles that were published 10 years ago.

Not a fan of the anonymity the internet offers, I feel it encourages people to be rude and immoral.

Yep, I would strongly agree with this point.

The internet allows people to post anonymously in tones in which they would not adopt in real life. It goes to show the cowards who tend to believe that they are safe from the people whom they have insulted.

Another nuisance of the internet is the portal of advertisements that are plagued on sites we visit regularly. Having to see commercials on TV is enough, let alone having to see it again when you go online.

Don't get me wrong here, the positive aspects of the internet, in my opinion, highly out number those that are negative, however the points aforementioned are the two which most annoys me.
