Terminal - I usually have 6-12 instances running at a given time, some local, some running remote sessions.

There are the apps that I always have open: Firefox (Nightly version), MacVim, iTerm, Reeder, iTunes.

Terminal - I usually have 6-12 instances running at a given time, some local, some running remote sessions.

Look into tmux. I used to have several terminal windows open but tmux handles multiple sessions, panes and windows and these days I don't open more than one terminal window. It's really, really cool!

Safari without a doubt, followed closely by Spotify, Word and Preview.

To think, I was worried whether I would need more than 8GB of RAM...

By far, Safari is the most used app. Then probably Mail.app followed by Tweetbot and iMessages.

In no particular order:

  • Alfred (never leave home without it):D
    Safari
    Audition
    Wiretap Studio
    Soundboard
    Lightroom
    Photoshop
    Terminal
Notesuite/Evernote - Still not fully sold on Notesuite
    Beamer
    Vox
Air video - always running in background
    Splashtop - ditto

I'm in and out of all of these on a daily basis. Some are almost never closed:eek:

For me, without a doubt, 99% of my usage is Google Chrome.

I surf the web a lot (Twitter, Youtube, Khan Academy and Wikipedia for school, eBay for video games, etc)

The only other apps I really use are Mail, iMessage and iCal.

I sometimes also use notes, iTunes, Google Drive, and a few others like KeyNote.

I use Safari, Pages, Preview, Spotify, FaceTime, Photoshop CC and FCP X the most.
