No logging in Max - batch convert stops

Max has been great for me, converts tons of formats and extremely fast.

My only issue is that Max stops on an error and if you have a batch conversion in progress, it is maddening to have it stop. Why not just log it and continue?

Hi All,

I know this thread was started years ago but google found it today when I searched for a FLAC to MP3 converter for Mac.

Just wanted to let anyone else know who also looks that I got XLD and it worked like a charm. Full album conversion in seconds on a late 2010 i7 iMac.

Great that I found the answer on a website I already visit most days as well.

xACT looks excellent so far. It even has a convenient tag editor for fixing metadata, which is usually a major pain in the ass. Especially if you're archiving stuff in FLAC that you captured as wave files (no metadata).

First, let me point out that this thread is five and a half years old...
And XLD is the gold standard for transcoding.

xACT and XLD are great. However I now use the excellent Pro Audio Converter from the Apple app store. Awesome.

I use X Lossless Decoder and nothing else. It's a powerful tool and if you get confused there's tutorials online. Plus it's free and updated frequently.

All2MP3 is a very efficient program. I use it to convert my FLAC files to 320MP3
