I've been wating for a great star gazing app. Recently I've found a good one, it's titled StarWalk 😀

Pocket Informant or Daylite Touch (or an update from SmartTime that meets all my needs).

Also Metal Gear.

I agree the App Store offerings are somewhat boring recently, and the focus is still on games. I’d like to see enhanced travel apps and more interactive reference material. Yeah I know, but that's just me.

I'm waiting for Documents to Go by Dataviz. I emailed them last week and they said this should be coming out in the first quarter of 2009.

I just hope something fresh and new (doesn't even have to be exciting necessarily) comes along soon. Lately, it seems like the App Store has hit a Glass Ceiling in terms of creativity and function. For the past month or so, excluding games, nothing really has come out except for fart apps, count down apps, and one-touch dialers. App Stores needs a shot in the arm.
The reason why nothing useful or fresh is coming out is because 10,000's of people a day are buying fart apps for $.99 . I think if people would seriously make an effort to not buy those stupid apps and save up your money to buy an $3.99 app, you would see better apps coming out. I have put off several ideas to focus on easy, cheap apps because that is what makes money.

Zecco Trading
Opera
Apple (An apple store application)
Macrumors application so we won't have to go through safari

Turn-By-Turn Navigation GPS
Skype
Studiometry

* Apple's PUSH SERVICE NOTIFIER that was suppose to come out September '08!!!

Pocket Informant. Its the ONLY thing I miss since ditching Windows Mobile and its coming in Jan according to their site.

And Slingplayer - which is also coming soon!

Ultimate guitar

they should have an app where all of the Ultimate guitars tabs are stored and you can look at them in a iphone type format
