With all the leaks we know the next iPhones will be 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7.

I would like to upgrade to the 12 but I’m not really sure what size to go for. I had a XR previously before going to XS and hated how big it was. So I don’t really want to go 6.1. Yet I’m worried 5.4 will be too small. 5.8 really does seem like the perfect size its a shame apple wont make it anymore.

What are others thinking?

I had a XR for 8 months Mrs still has one, I’ve had the 11 pro since release was thinking selling and getting the SE but don‘t want to loose fid, oled and the better camera, it’s heavier but size doesn’t worry me much.
The 5.4 could be the answer might just wait and see.

Waiting to see what the 5.4 offers. May jump to that or may sell the 11 Pro and get the SE. glad to see others here are happy with the SE. I’ve come to terms that I don’t really need the most expensive one.

I would prefer the Pro model iPhone but what’s the most important to me is a phone that’s comfortably pocketable.

I know others will come and say the 11 Pro is pocketable. Yea true but there’s a difference between being comfortably pocketable and somewhat pocketable.

If you’re honest the 11 Pro isn’t comfortably pocketable but is pocketable somewhat.

The 11 Pro is about a 1/4 “ taller than the SE which is significant.

I noticed a difference in my work pants cell phone pocket and when I wear jeans and my tee shirt pocket.

Oh yeah. I’m a woman and it weighs my pockets down significantly if I’m wearing shorts and putting in the pockets. I always end up having to put it in my purse. Going to be nice to have a phone that doesn’t do that. Hoping the 5.4 is not heavy.

Yep. It’s not just the weight it’s the size. That 1/4 “-ish taller makes a difference plus the weight.

I wear Levi selvedge jeans and the SE doesn’t stick out of my back pocket fit perfectly.

Most likely I’ll go with the 5.4” device. Just this year alone ... we’re in August almost September and this is the iPhones I’ve used:

iPhone 7 Plus
iPhone 7
iPhone 8
iPhone XS
iPhone XS Max
iPhone SE
iPhone X
iPhone 11

Just in 2020. Right now I’m using my XS again. I can’t get into the size of the 11 and XR. I love my X and my XS. IDK lol. Probably gonna try the 5.4” model. Though I do feel like the 6.1” model will be a little smaller since they’re going OLED on them. Which would mean the Bezels would be smaller.

I intend to get the 5.4" standard iPhone 12 unless the 6.1" iPhone 12 Pro has features that I didn't want to pass up. However, given that the rumors of ProMotion, smaller notch, etc. have mostly been redacted it sounds like the difference will primarily be (1) stainless steel, (2) "better" OLED screen, (3) zoom lens camera.

I will miss the zoom lens, but unless there is something else I don't think those three features warrant an addition $300 and larger size.

I’ll either jump on the 5.4 iPhone 12 or keep my X. If they had a 12 Pro in 5.8, I’d probably get that one.

I think the natural swap would be the 5.8" 11 Pro to the 6.1" 12 Pro, which I would think would be a little lighter than the 11.

With the squared off edges and perhaps smaller bezels, the 6.1" might not be as big as it sounds?

The options for me, if I upgrade, are either the 5.4" 12, or the 6.1" pro. I like the smaller size, but I miss the builtin telephoto option on the X I had. I can digitally zoom on my 11, but it isn't just press the 2x circle.

I have the 11 Pro and would upgrade to the 6.1 Pro depending on what size it turns out to actually be. I don't want anything much bigger than the 11 Pro. If significantly bigger I'll probably stick with my 11 Pro.

went from 8 plus to 5.8" 11 Pro this round. Next round, I'll probably go back to 6.7" for the big screen. Hopefully with that, I won't need my iPad anymore.

Last time I went from a 6+ to an X. While the X technically has a larger screen, it’s thinner and the on screen keyboard is more compact because of it. My plan is to get a bigger screen next time. I‘ve played with 11 Max and Xr to see the different sizes. I’m leaning on a Max, which would be the 6.7” iPhone 12 (right? 🤷🏼‍♂️). I’m likely not getting an iPhone 12. So it depends on what size options are around next year.

My plan is to wait and see the specs of the iPhone 12 5.4” model, assess how much Apple has knocked down those specs to reach the desired $650-750 price point, and then decide between keeping my iPhone 11 Pro or trading it in for the iPhone 12 5.4” model. The iPhone 11 Pro is too large for me to handle, so I am hoping that there are no reasons not to move to the iPhone 12 5.4” model. I will be sad to lose 2x zoom from the telephoto lens, but I suppose I’ll learn to live with it. I am most concerned with poor battery life on the new smallest model. I still think I would still prioritize small size over battery life but it will be a shame to not realize similar battery life as the 11 Pro.

Yea I’ve been thinking about potential battery life with the 5.4. Although I’m almost always near or have power. I currently have an SE.

My job I’m out and about and don’t have access to outlets mostly but I do carry an Anker portable charger. I always have to charge it about 4-5 into my job and then like to top it off before I leave. I have lots of down time on my job and I’m a pretty heavy user.

My work vehicle which I’m in or near most of the time doesn’t have any outlets is why I have a portable charger. If I’m in the work vehicle I keep my SE plugged into the portable charger all the time.

The problem is when I’m not in the vehicle and doing heavy use. Yes I do bring the portable charger with me but it’s a PIA to keep my SE charging even though the Anker fits in my pocket.

The SE definitely doesn’t last me the day for my use. But I sacrificed that for a device being comfortably pocketable.

We had a trip planned for France this year but that was cancelled for obvious reasons. I would defiantly need to bring my Anker with me cause of heavy use taking pics and videos and WhatsApp.

When I had the 11 Pro battery life was better but still didn’t last me the work day of 8 hours. But only had to top it off about an hour before I left work vs my SE having to keep on charger and 2 top off chargers before I left work.

On the weekends and when I get home from work it’s not such an issue. This is when I appreciate the pocketability of the SE especially when I’m in my street clothes.

I plan to upgrade my X to the 12 Pro Max - I just find the 5.8" screen too small and the 11 Pro Max feels perfect for me. The extra battery will also be helpful. Worse case would be me going for the 6.1" 12 Pro or the 11 Pro Max but I definitely want to upsize.

I have an X and love the 5.8 screen. It’s still like new so I probably won’t upgrade for a while and am a bit disappointed in the new size choices. I like small but 5.4 might be a bit too small after using an X for a while. I’m unsure at the moment but the 11 Pro might be my next phone since 5g is irrelevant to me at this point.

The 6.1” is rumoured to not be that much bigger a form factor to the iPhone X due to smaller bezels.

Even if it is bigger, after demoing some other 6.1” phones, I think it’d be ok for me. I wouldn’t go any bigger though.
