As the title says. I realise it still says 3-4 weeks online, but I've heard many stories of them arriving much sooner.

I would check your local Best Buy or Apple Store. My local Apple Store has just about every model in stock the last time I was in there (2 week ago). I bought mine on MacMall since they had the exact one I wanted. I canceled mine since Apple said it was 4-5 weeks.

MacMall has a bunch in stock right now if you want to get delivery of it faster. It was faster than waiting for weeks, and I also didn't have to pay tax (at least in my state). Overall, it was about $100 cheaper than I would have paid buying from Apple because of tax. Free shipping too.

Ordered yesterday on Amazon, should be delivered July 7-10. Got a decent deal too.

Was going to order the base model with apple care and the USB adapter, tax included was 1675 with the 3-4 week lead time, this from Apple.

On Amazon, the 1.2/512 model was 1589, Apple care was discounted to 189, and the adapter, with free shipping (Prime) and no taxes for a grand total of 1797, a price increase of only 122 bucks, worth it in my book.

Went with the space gray color.

It might help when posting this type of question the country you are enquiring about.

In my case (The UK) I ordered mine on the 16th of May and it turned up on the 29th of June

Apologies. I am in the UK too, but interested in hearing what's going on in other countries too seeing as they are all coming from China.

In regards to the other posts. If I order, it will be direct from Apple as I qualify for edu discount. However, it will have to be purchased online as my closest Apple Store is too far away.

Not sure how it works in the UK, but my wife qualifies for the edu discount also, however, the tax savings buying on Amazon (no sales tax charged if shipped to a different state) vs the edu pricing plus tax, was right at 100 dollars.

No apologies needed mate, iv'e found through experience asking 'open' questions like this elicits some wiered replies.

I can say however that the wait is worth it. I came from an old White MacBook unibody circa 2010. I had upgraded the Ram and fitted a SSD but the speed difference is very noticeable, as it should. My advice is that 'the sooner you get your order in, the sooner you will have it in your hands'

Well mine wasn't supposed to be delivered until July 9th. Just got notification that Amazon has shipped it, it will be delivered home on Friday the 3rd. Im working in Texas but have a buddy going home for the weekend and will bring it back Monday. Lot quicker than I expected to get it. :)

Is everyone who is ordering directly from Apple getting it earlier than the 3-4 week quote? I thought I read about 2 week shipping times.

I called my local store in Dallas today, and they said they haven't had a shipment in two weeks. Been out of them for a while. Seems hard to believe.

Living in the Netherlands. Went into a local store June the 16th and picked up a 1.1/256 SG. Right now all models and all colours, apart from the 1.3, seem to be available in the shops. Apple still quotes 3-4 weeks. I love this little gem, I have stopped using my iPad.

I ended up ordering a 1.1 silver MacBook direct from Apple last Wednesday. Delivery 24-31 July. Waiting for something from Apple is the best and worst thing at the same time
