I am retired, but currently work a bit:

I am a college professor who teaches undergrad and graduate courses on two campuses of the same university. I also write and have a new book coming out soon.

Also run a consultant/development firm that is heavily involved in bringing two new products to market, managing a virtual business with people on both coasts, and providing consultant services to existing clients.

I use the MBA for everything. Still have a MBP at home and I use its larger hard drive to backup my iphone, itunes, etc. All the rest of the work gets done on the MBA. I am quite happy with it, but hope to replace it with a new MBA that has:
1. larger hard drive
2. more USB ports.

For me, the MBA was a no-brainer because of its light weight, great screen, and good keyboard. I use primarily Office along with Tinderbox, Devonthink Pro, Curio, and NoteTaker.

And you call yourself "retired"? Man!!!

I am

A professor at a private university. Upgraded from a 12" PB. The MBA is my primary machine although we also have a PB15" and Thinkpad at home. I use the MBA mainly for writing (Pages, Scrivener--excellent program), research (Papers, DevonThink Pro Office, Safari) and Keynote for presentations. I have had the core shutdown problem, but not since installing CoolBook.

I'm a fiction writer, clinical psychologist, and part time university instructor. In the last year, I've struggled with back/hip pain (maybe from playing volleyball, maybe from carrying around my 12 in. Powerbook all the time). Whatever the reason, I've been desperate for a lighter computer.

When my Powerbook started running hot a few weeks ago (burning my fingers-ouch), I decided to take the plunge.

I think I'll be fine with the Air as my only computer. I write, email, surf, and carry, carry, carry.

Clinical psychology student, final year. "Upgraded" to MBA from MBP, and after a few hacks (fanspeed limit 4000RPM + Coolbook) I find that it´s a great machine for almost all my needs. Still use the iMac at home for the screen real estate, but I guess I could just get a second screen for the MBA.

As for MBA 2.0 I would like to see 128GB SSD, 2,4GhZ C2D and a bigger screen that fills the whole bezel.

I'm a Snap-On Tool dealer. Welcome to my office:

it sucks

lol!

I work for a private equity firm. i bought my MBA for lounging. Plus i'm going to france for 3 months and i wanted a laptop

I'm a professor/scientist- use it to write papers, present talks at meetings and at other Universities, review grants for the government and browse the scientific literature. It replaced a 17 inch PB that was too big to carry around and a 12 inch PB before that. 17 inch PB was a mistake but I hung on to it because of the rumors about the MBA. On the day the MBA was announced I ordered it.
:D, Do you need a phd or postdoc with MBA? LOL....

I am a medical phd student:):)

im a refinery inspector. API 510 and API 570. Pressure vessel inspector and piping inspector. I have to carry my air alot back and forth about a block everyday, and use it to type reports in Word and Excel.
