I got a $1000 apple gift card from an acquaintance and I am not sure how to cashify this.

I'm thinking of buying a brand new apple product and then selling it to someone else on ebay or amazon. What are the best selling apple product?

I'd put it towards a Mac Mini that hopefully will be announced next week. Those headless Macs hold their value quite well.

Yes someone will buy it. But obviously you wont sell it for face value. Wouldnt you rather have an Apple product?

Yes somebody would buy it, at less than face value. I would think it would sell better than trying to buy a product and going through the same thing. Ask your self how much a new I pad sell for new in the wrapper used from a private party.

You could probably sell it for 900. I'd expect at least a 100 dollar loss but I'm almost certain it would sell for that. Maybe 950, but I don't know for sure. Gift cards usually take a bigger loss the larger the amount it is.

However, it might be better to just buy a full-retail price and sell it as brand new, as your original plan stated. An iPhone 6 Plus, if you can find it, could sell for well above 1,000 if you're able to find one in the wild in the month. Aside from that, maybe a MacBook Air are probably your only options to buy-and-resell at a similar value.

I would sell it for whatever is the most profitable to make the same amount or maybe even alittle more cash. 6 plus, new iPad Air 2, or if you can wait till Jan 2015 the iwatch.

Use the Gift card to buy an apple product like the new iPad coming out and then sell the rest of the gift card or just sell the gift card close to 1000. If you put a reserve on an eBay auction a lot of times you'll get close to what it's worth. I just sold my LG L90 that T-mobile was only going to give me 58 bucks for and I owed 99 on. So sold it on eBay and got 95. Paid off the phone and traded my iPhone 5s in and got this 6.

But then you have to pay all the Ebay and PayPal listing and final value fees which are not cheap and take a chance on selling to a buyer who frauds you. I would do CL. I was Ebay top seller got scammed too many times to continue selling that way.
