Late 20s, decent shape, good income, drives a Bentley, lives in a pretty nice spacious condo in a high rise, wears nice clothes, very generous with gifts, has been on dates with models in the past.

Would a person like that be able to make friends, date models, and live relatively well in LA?

If not real models, then girls who look just a good lol :)

Nothing to see here. Girls will take advantage of that guy and then leave him for a real man. Guys who have a Bentley to get girls... Bentleys are to pick up the trash.

I had a co-worker who drove a really nice sports car, but when he went on a first date, he would borrow a friend's beat up Honda Civic. His car wasn't a status symbol that he wanted to flaunt. He simply liked nice cars, but he didn't want to attract a woman who would judge him by his car one way or another.

All I can say is Mr @Hieveryone, for someone with (purportedly) all these things you are a bundle of insecurities.

And what is this thing you have with "very generous with gifts" ?
Do you have to buy love, friendship, loyalty, trust?

Some of us get those things for free. Just by being fallible, flawed but decent human beings.

If this is just an idle day dream as you stare out your cubicle farm door, get another dream. This one is killing you.

Good luck, Mr @Hieveryone

That person sounds like a d*** and won’t have friends anywhere they go.

I don't have over the top nice cars, but I've been a "Lincoln man" for several years-although admittedly the reputation Lincoln's as being "old man cars" more than once has made someone(not necessarily a date) think that I'm driving my grandfather's car :) . I guess now that's not too far from the truth since my current one(a 2010 MKZ) was a car that my grandfather bought new as a 90th B-day gift to himself. My dad bought it from him about a year before he died(mostly to get him to quit driving) and I bought it from my dad about two years ago.

With that said, for a long time I had a 91 Ranger. It was pretty much a bare bones base model-it did have an automatic, but a 4 cylinder engine, crank windows, and manual locks. It didn't even have a cassette deck, and even though it had an AM/FM radio, it only worked on AM. It had A/C when I bought it, but as often happens with DIY R-134a conversions(it had been done before I bought it) the compressor died after a year or so and since I don't have the tools for a proper DIY job I wasn't about to spend a few hundred dollars fixing the A/C on a $1500 truck. I kept it clean-inside and out-and running well otherwise. I actually drove it on more than one first date, and the truck itself was never a hindrance to getting a second date. After the A/C died, I avoided using it for that when the lack of it would have been really noticeable, but that was about it.

If I date a girl for very long, she quickly learns that I'm a "car guy" and have multiple vehicles. Right now(and almost always) "multiple" means two, although one of them is hit or miss as to whether or not a girl likes riding in it. My girlfriend of 8 months now has not ridden in my second car with the top down, and I'm hoping that changes her opinion of it :)

BTW, my girlfriend has a nicer car that my main car :)

A good wake up call to many man.
[doublepost=1555118470][/doublepost]My advice is do what makes you happy. Your physical look, status, nice car and money will attract all kind bunch of girls but some might genuinely love you for your intelligance, independent, confidance and charming personality.

It really depends on your personality too, money, status and cars comes second.

Jesus Christ! How many years has this same poster been posting these inane self-worshipping threads about himself and wondering if people will like him if he has enough stuff? Pretty much right there tells you how unhappy he is and always will be. Even though I don’t think any of it is real or ever has been, that makes it even more depressing.

What is depressing is not the repetition, but the vapid values of judging women by appearance, and self worth by material possessions.

As someone who is in their early 30s, declining shape, good income, doesn’t drive a Bentley, lives in a nice house 1 hour away from LA, wears clothes that work (blue jeans/polo), .... I’ve made friends but I definitely haven’t dated models so, I guess I can’t help you there. I’ve already found an amazing girl whom I’ve spent 7 years married to and am planning on spending the rest of my life with. Call me a pessimist but I think you’re setting yourself up for failure if you think the above is “living relatively well.”

Your forum threads continue to amaze me. :)
Totally agree!

Chase happiness and fulfilment with yourself and help others to achieve this. Do not chase materialistic objects! You’re wanting the wrong things.
