iPhone XS What are the dots on the camera lens iPhone Xs

Any ideas. Same happens on my iPhone 7. Normal?

Internal lens reflections. Might be reflecting off the back of the sapphire lens protector. I have this problem with leaving filters on my DSLR lens that cause this.

Lens flare.
Super expensive lenses used on professional cameras don't do it. Smartphones do.
