Not to be facetious, but the ones you use. By that I mean working apps (MS Office, Pixelmator Pro, preferred browser, anti virus, Malwarebytes, PDF expert, Onyx). After that it is more on an as need basis with photo/movie utility apps, and other general utility apps

In order:

Firefox
Little Snitch
Malwarebytes
iStat Menus
BBEdit
SomaFM.

After the dust has settled, I load Affinity Suite.

After that, I load Adobe CC

CC is on the Chopping Block next round....

I’m all for getting rid of Adobe CC. However, I just cant force myself to finish a whole project with Affinity only … I know it’s possible, but, any tips ?

  1. Default Folder X
  2. Rectangle
  3. RDM (Display Resolution adjustment utility)
  4. Dropbox
  5. Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Acrobat)
  6. Microsoft 365
  7. A small handful of utility apps like Onyx, etc.

1. Graphic Converter
2. Some AppleScripts I’ve been using for a while
3. FCP X
4. Affinity Photo
5. Affinity Designer
6. Affinity Publisher

All the data from my Documents folder.

I had some other apps but after some life changes I use these plus iWork, Notes which are already installed.

I guess it depends upon the Project.

Nothing in my workflow predicates collaboration with any other that requires CC (or anything that this exclusivity might provide), so I guess I'm basically free to do what I want.

My CC Sub is the Photog's Package: PS, LR and Bridge.

I've used Bridge much, much more-often than PS or LR over the past decade.

I used to do a lot of print, but I'm mostly web these days.

How documents are used has superseded how I make the documents.

In the past, there was (basically) nothing I could not accomplish with CorelDraw.

I moved exclusively to OSX/Mac OS years ago, and my tools subsequently changed.

In the interim, I have become less 'Tools', and more 'Format'.

In this capacity, Affinity provides everything I need 😉

Nice! I have the photography package as well and was contemplating getting Illustrator one off. Still cheaper than full CC.

I also have the Affinity suite and Pixelmator … but I just can’t get used to the tools. I guess I’ve just grown up with photoshop and I’m stuck.
