Will it slow down my iPad Mini 4 like what iOS 11 did to my iPad Mini 2? If so I wont upgrade.
The minimum requirements are basically just devices that are supported. The level of performance is somewhat different and separate from that. Hard to make a call on that when it comes to early betas of a brand new major version.
A significant promotion on Apple's part is that iOS 12 will speed up older devices (they used iPhone 6 as an example during the keynote)
So IOS 12 will be faster on my Mini 4 than IOS 11?
Could very well be (perhaps even should).
That was my takeaway from the keynote in how they explained the speed increase with opening apps, animations, etc., and using the iPhone 6 as an example
