What are these files?

user/library/application support/backup/backup library/EFF727C8-3A36-431B-B4A6-E92C7E007645, ETC.

They're fairly large files. They seem to be related to the data backups to my external HD.

what software are you using to backup your data?
i'm using time machine and there are no such folders/files anywhere...

(because of the cryptic names your files have, they seem to be part of a database/library)

I'm thinking these files are related to Apple Backup 3 - Tiger 10.4.11. The data is on my external HD, but these cryptic files look like they might be the catalog for those backups.

Sounds like Apple .Mac Backup data.
