iPod touch What are touch users going to do about PUSH notifications?

Im starting to think that wifi is on when the ipod is asleep. When Im driving in the city, I play a album and press the top off button. Once in a while when Im sitting at a light the music will go quiet, I will hear a faint beep and the music continues. Like magic there is a email waiting for me. Its not like it happens every 15 minutes, rather whenever it finds wifi that is not secured. Or maybe when Im playing music the ipod isnt truely turned off, but regardless whenever it finds wifi when Im driving it automatically tries to check my mail.

Turn on ask to join networks and it wont be connecting to those.

Its actually pretty convenient imo.
