I traded in my Silver Aluminum S3 LTE when I bought my new S4. They gave me $225 for it, which I used to buy a charging dock, a new sport loop and Ape Care+.

They only ask for the watch. No band, no accessory. I placed the order online for pickup with trade in and the store took it.

My 2 Series 2 are going to each of my two nephews. They have been asking about Apple watches for the past 6 months or so.

My Series 0 SS....wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Then I came across this article on 9to5 Mac about converting your old Apple Watch into a dedicated sleep tracker. I dug the watch out of a drawer a few hours ago, charged it, set it up, yada...and we will see how it goes.

Which app are you using? I’m interested in giving it a try. Tired of FB market and Craigslist.

If/when I upgrade my S0, it's going straight into a drawer where it'll probably not see sunlight for the next 10 years.

Right now it's worth next to nothing; it may be worth something one day, just like the original iPhones.

I read somewhere that these days original iPhones are worth north of $2,000; and if it's a 4GB model it's worth even more (!!!!), because this means it's an even earlier model. Insane.
Maybe unopened factory sealed.

I’m selling my S3 back to Apple in hopes to use the gift card towards some new stuff they release in Oct.

My wife wanted to try using the Apple Watch again, so I passed my series one to her. She loves using it, so I think I will be getting her a Series 4 at some point or a series 5 next year.

I traded my S3 at Apple for Credit. Threw in an old iPad for trade in also and paid $80 out of pocket for the new S4 ⌚️

Wow this thread shows how bad resale value is of Apple watches. I’m trying to sell my s2 stainless (which admittantly I paid for second hand at more than 50% off), but I’m not getting any takers and my price is reasonable.

You don't ever buy consumer goods & worry about the resale value. If that kind of thing worries you then you should never upgrade and run your items into the ground until they are beyond economical repair.

Yes true, but one would expect some value to be retained. The apple watch loses a lot of value considering the very high price tag.

For me they just keep pilling up

I'm doing this as well with my S3, though still waiting for my S4. I was wondering what they would ask to send back. Interesting that they don't ask for the band. Thanks for the info.

As for my S2, I use it as my sleep tracker and should I ever want to wear a smaller face (38mm), I have one.

I’m keeping my Series 3 another year since 1) it was a gift, 2) it’s SS and I got the gold SS this year where I could swap between the two depending on what I feel like wearing for the day.

hoping to upgrade from my series two when I finally trade or sell it. Just curious what everyone else is doing with their old watches when upgrading. Passing on to family members, keeping for sentimental reasons or selling/trading?
I'm not giving my stuff anyone. I have good memories about them so I prefer to keep them.
