I have the present Apple TV and like it a lot. I will be getting the new one when it's released.
For those of you who have the present one; what do you plan on doing with the one you have now after you buy the new one?

I thought about just transferring it to another TV. Other than that I have no idea what to do with it.

I have two TVs in the house but only one ATV2. It's pretty obvious what I'll be doing with it. My ATV2 is still a fine machine for streaming local iTunes content and Netflix... can't see that changing anytime soon.

I use mine almost the same amount of time as my cable box. Mostly for HBOgo, showtime anytime, Hulu, Netflix and movies/tv from iTunes.

Yes HBO and Showtime OD is available on my cable box. But the UI is horrendous and the performance is pitiful at best.

I have four AppleTVs in my house in different rooms and love them. I have a lot of media I use through Home Sharing, plus apps like Netflix, HBO, Showtime, etc make it easy to watch other stuff in rooms I don't have a cable box. I'll certainly shift them around and put one in the guest room when I get the new one, but if I get 2 or more new ones, I'm not sure what I'll do. Might have to mount TVs in the bathrooms just to keep the ATVs in use!

On a serious note, only one of the 4 that I have is the newest ATV3 with peer-to-peer airplay option. If you have this latest model, the best option is use it for traveling since it doesn't require an internet connection for airplay.

I have the current Apple TV and am just going to put it in my boys game room on their TV. I never even considered selling it, because it just will not be worth the hassle. Besides my teenage boys will enjoy it. They do now. I will be getting the new ATV and putting it where my old one was.

I'm in Denmark, I use:

Netlfix (40% of the time)
ViaPlay (20%)
Airplay (40%)
- of which the vast majority is AirPlaying Plex.

I'm looking very much forward to games on it, I can't justify getting a PS4 or Xbox One for my needs, but the ATV4 seems perfect.

I don't have cable any more, so I'm hoping DR and TV2 (the largest networks in Denmark, DR is publicly owned) will be quick to support it.

I haven't had cable in 3 years so it's my main box of tv delights. Watch iTunes stuff, Netfix, YouTube, etc. I don't have a second tv so I'll probably just box up the old one when I get the new one. I may get a bedroom tv someday...right now I just use my MB for bedtime viewings.

I have three atv 3's in the house, one on each television. I will start off with one new atv and see if my parents want the original lounge atv. Eventually if all is good i will replace all of them and palm them off to others.

I bought my atv 3 from Costco less than 90 days ago. I'm gonna return it and add some money to it to get the newer Apple TV.

We have two Apple TV's. One in the living room and one in the bedroom.
I'll be giving the one in the bedroom to my parents and replace it with the new Apple TV.

My wife and I use it for Netflix most of the time. And whenever iTunes gets a nice movie we haven't seen yet, we rent it.
Too bad we don't get the TV series on iTunes, here in the Netherlands :(

If we like the new Apple TV, we might replace the one in the living room too.

I have two TVs and two Apple TVs. I gave one Apple TV to my 79-year old brother and he loves it. I'll put the new one in my bedroom. I watch YouTube, podcasts, some Netflix

Going to upgrade my 7 apple tvs 1 at a time. I'll give the old ones to family members that have Apple TV-less tvs... I use Apple TV along with plex over AirPlay to watch my content wherever I may be... Looking forward to an easy native plex client.

When you say "the newest ATV 3" do you mean there are different versions of the ATV 3 and only the newest of them have this ability? Or are you comparing it to the Apple TV 2?

Correct. The ATV3 had two different iterations, all relatively insignificant other than the P2P option added in March 2013. I believe the latest model number is A1469.

Moving my living room one to my RV for use with my computer when traveling. Will also be putting a spare router with wireless capability in the RV, so all my devices can be connected on the road. All I need is to find campgrounds that have a decent internet connections.

I have three TVs and two 3rd Gen AppleTV. I'll start with one new AppleTV for my family room and if its worth the upgrade, I'll pick another up for the bedroom. As far as the old one goes, it will go into my media room which doesn't currently have one. If I end up getting another new Apple TV then then the other 3rd Gen will probably get placed outside in our lounge and hooked up to a receiver and a pair of speakers for streaming audio.
