Sounds like the 13 inch pro is dead, either that or they get rid of the Air designation, and the 11 and 13 inch air's become pros

It would be interesting to see if there could be some advanced cooling options for the MBP, e.g. a stationary turbo mode where you can open some flaps on the bottom, put it on a stand and have more natural cooling without fans.

For mobile use there could be a mobile mode where the processors run at a lower power.

Like gears in an automatic transmission you can adjust the MBP to the "terrain".

@rexster
Nice find! Thanks for sharing. It looks exactly as you describe, a MacBook Pro in a MacBoko Air-like chassis. Do project Maximus or Virtual Graphics relate to MBPs though? They sound like technologies for entreprise multi-GPU computing in the "cloud" (hate this term).

I don't expect anything from the next iteration of MacBook Pros. They will more than likely just be speed upgraded versions of the Early 2011 models.

or...

The 2012 MacBook Pro will be...13", 15", and 17" iPads!!!

Modular drive bays please

Modular drive bays would be welcome since this is the pro line. Don't need it any thinner or lighter - the Air is available if portability is a high priority. The option to use an empty bay or extra internal battery or hard drive or even a Blu-ray drive would make the computer more powerful or useful for specific situations. Personally I would probably prefer to use a couple of SSD in a RAID most of the time. Unfortunately I think the chances of this happening are low.

Better audio would also be welcome, perhaps even a tiny amp to improve the quality of the audio when using the analog output. Also not likely since this has been a problem for years.

A keyboard with a 10key on the larger models would be nice. Not likely since it would upset the appearance of the current design.

What will happen? A minor speed bump, when the hardware is available in quantity.

New design ?

New design for a virtual keyboard like in the ipone / ipad would be a killer
