Actually, that's a fantastic idea. Perhaps even build a page that includes not just information on the new MBP, but even on other products. Or rumored products. And software, too, since people are also interested in that.

Maybe in time they could set up some sort of chat or discussions on the stuff that's coming out. Eventually you'd even have a forum of some sort dedicated to Mac-related stuff and even some just general banter.

That would be great.

Did no one else understand emw's sarcasm with his remark?

Here's a clue everyone else....YOU'RE ON A SITE JUST LIKE HE DESCRIBED!!!

emw, I like your wit man, I got it first time and laughed my ass off. :D :D

The fact that you just explained to everyone that this was sarcasm means 2 things:

1) You're American.
2) The people you're addressing are Americans. :p

An e-mail would be good so we don't need to load MR every day..

Perhaps the RSS feed would be more to your liking? Try going to the front page and looking under "RSS/XML" on the left column... maybe even put it in your bookmark bar and it'll tell you when there are new stories!

</overly helpful>

Those people got the joke and gave sarcastic remarks back. ;)

If so, that's some of the best-hidden sarcasm I've ever seen. :p

In fact, what I really miss over here in Norway is the sarcastic American humor I grew up with. When I try to unleash it here, people just get offended. :( I end up calling up old friends in the US.....

I guess that I will just have to use my old, clearly outdated MacBook Pro w/ Core Duo while eating a delicious salad topped with ranch dressing. :D

Why wait for mbp?

I'm wondering if I should wait for the 17inch MBP.
This is what makes me hesitate:
I pay 3099$ for a MBP with 2 gig ram. For 3098$, I can get a 20inch imac, same graphic card like the MBP, 500 Gig HD (1949$) and the cheapest MB with a 80 gig HD upgrade (1149$). I’d have a fast imac with a big HD to use Final Cut Pro, and a small MB to use on the road. What do you people think of this dilemma?

Well i would buy one if they had a refurb instock. My guess is that within the fortnight, there will be the C2D anyway so i dont care.

I've been wanting to upgrade my 1.25 GHz 15" PBG4 for some time. I was as anxious as many seem to be now so I bought a 20" Intel iMac when they came out to tide me over. It's not always practical but if I need to do anything heavy duty I turn to the iMac. It is a great computer.

I am still looking to upgrade but with the iMac available, I know I can wait for something special to happen to the MBP line. I think I might be bored if it looked exactly like my current notebook, despite a meteoric leap in power.
