Fun fact - the guitarist on the left, Jeff "skunk" Baxter (a founding member of Steely Dan and later Doobie Brothers), is not only a brilliant guitarists but also a Dept of Defense senior advisor in Missile Defense. (I was a senior test analyst in Missile Defense for several years.) It was Skunk who came up with the idea of using the Aegis Cruiser as an ocean-going component of our BMDS (Ballistic Missile Defense System). The guy is brilliant.Listening to some smooth and easy Steely Dan this afternoon

Harry wrote some great tunes. Taken from us far too early. If I recall correctly, he was killed in a car accident on the Long Island expressway when he was in his late 30's.One of my favorites. Tears me up every time....
Knew about May and Scholz. Didn't know about John Tichy (not much of a Commander Cody aficionado).Smart fellow. There are of course other musicians with interesting educational backgrounds and careers:
Brian May of Queen has a PhD in astrophysics and designed the OWL sterescope.
John Tichy of Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen has a PhD from University of Michigan and until recently headed the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York.
Tom Scholz of Boston has a Masters degree in mechanical engineering from MIT.
