The absolutely hilarious track Superstar from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
A sense of humour is very personal of course. I bought the brown box album upon release in 1970 and I thank you for reminding me to give it a listen as I have not done so for quite some time. I find nothing hilarious about the song, not even anything funny. But obviously some folks differ. :)

Iggy Confidential on BBC Radio 6

Wonderful weekly show which exposes the listener to a wide range of music from 1930s jazz to 2022 punk. Something for everybody.

I didn't see this one coming, but as it came out 5 days ago and is already close to a million views, I have to say it was really well done, and full on respect to the Commodores, all the way down to the lightbulb from the original video. Well done, Mr. Springsteen.

I love both versions... this and the original.

The first comment on the video says an amazing story:

Being the co-creator and producer of The Commodore's music video for "Nightshift", I just have to say how honored I am to see this version by my hero, and fellow New Jersey native (I'm from Paterson and saw you in Asbury Park numerous times). An obvious homage and tribute to both The Commodores and our music video, right down to the lightbulb microphone, the fade ups, certain cuts to the keyboard player and background vocalist. Gave me chills, Bruce. And to date, I have directed and produced a 160 plus music videos for major and indie artists, from Linkin Park and LL Cool J to Squeeze and The Black Crowes. But "Nightshift" was my very first and it skyrocketed to the top of MTV rotation for a year. And the story behind the video is not one I'm sure Bruce knows. In short, Motown was about to let band go post Lionel Ritchie's departure, but the band believed in their new album and this classic song. They were introduced to me by a mutual friend, and when I heard the track I was blown away. They had no money and literally had to dig into their own pockets to fund the video. Because it was my first, I agreed to produce it for less than $19,000, hence the simplicity of the concept and shoot. I brought in a TV commercial director who never did a music video before, but we made it work, even though the director referred to them several times during the shoot as The Temptations. None of us expected to be the iconic video it would become. We almost did a sequel version with The Commodores the year after Michael Jackson died, where the guys wrote an additional verse about Michael. They could never get the budget together so it never happened but they do it till this day in their live concerts. In conclusion, thank you again Bruce. Incredible video and rendition. And thanks for the visual tributes. Now if only someday, I could direct a music video for the boss himself. Congrats, sir.
Cheers, Chip Miller (original "Nightshift" producer)

Too bad they didn't get to make that new version with the verse for Michael, and apparently there are calls for Bruce to do this live, with a verse for Clarence Clemmons.

Jesus and Mary Chain - Reverence
Interesting band. Saw them 3 times. Have all their albums but don't find myself listening to them in the past 5 years or so. Not sure why. Darklands is such a brilliant album with every song a stand out. Perhaps they fall into the "too unique for their own good" category. A bit like The Chemical Brothers and Fat Boy Slim. Incredible music that smashed the idea of what music is and was, but perhaps not timeless. Almost as if the brilliance of the music is a little bit of a gimmick that's worn off. I think that's too harsh though to be honest. Your post has made me now want to go back and listen to all the albums... in order!

The 2009 Rammstein single ***** from the Liebe ist für Alle Da album. I had the good fortune of seeing them perform this live on tour a few years ago, during which lead vocalist Till Lindemann operates a large cannon that shoots foam into the crowd. Sadly, the uncensored music video is too graphic to be shown on YouTube.
