What are your personal faves? What are the ones you stay away from?

I use stickies all the time. They are now invaluable to me.

I also always have Apple's Weather widget, Calendar widget and Dictionary widget.

As for third party widgets, I have tried a lot from the Apple site, but the only ones that seem to stay are 'iStat Pro', 'F1 Countdown'

I'll be honest, the only widget I ever use regularly is the Calculator, which comes with Dashboard.

Is there a widget for iCal? So that I can check my appointments instead of just the date.

The only widgets I really use are weather widgets, but my favorite would have to be StopDashboard. Gotta keep that crazy Dock process in check...

I like the BBC Weather Widget - not that I'm a weather fanatic but I play sports that depend on the weather so it is nice to get a rough idea of what is going on.

I also use Stickies all the time. Very handy and innovative the Dashboard is.

I use Stickies all the time, and weather of course. Uptime, Screen Capture, and SysStat (for displaying memory usage) are the non-Apple widgets I use frequently.

I created my own Widget to display my University timetable.

Was useful to see what I had, but didn't benefit me. Still only made it to 60% of lectures :D

calendar. i always like to look at the date, and it's easier calling up dashboard than going into ical.

I have one that lets me track packages from all different types of carriers, many packages at a time... and it announces updates to the tracking info with Growl. Also I like my iTunes lyrics widget that looks up the lyrics of the currently playing song and then adds them to the song info in iTunes. The bummer with that though is the first time I play a song since I started using the widget, the song pauses for a half a second while the widget is updating the song info... but once the lyrics are in the song info it doesn't do that again.

iStat nano and the weather widget are great. I also find my Internode internet usage widget invaluable as it tells me how much of my monthly internet quota I have eaten up. Mmm...

Actually, before I got 10.4 I was using 10.3 and I never thought that I'd ever use the Dashboard feature but now I realise that it's pretty handy.

The only widgets I use are iStat and the gmail widget.
