Well, to be honest, I don't even know if the title is spelled correctly :D but either way, (yes, I did a search...) I thought it would be cool to start a thread where everyone posts their own pet peeve. I bet there are some strange ones out there... (you know who you are) ;) Mine aren't anything out of the ordinary, but hey, everyones different.

My biggest one is when people aren't careful with my stuff. It bothers me when I take such good care of something, an iPod for example, and someone comes along and takes it out of its case, starts prying at the dock connector, just some unbelievable things! I try not to let it bug me, but sometimes I can't stand it!

Another thing that bugs me is when people are overly serious and have no sense of humor. When I meet someone new, I am usually not my 100% self, because the way I act might be offensive to some folks, so I generally act different and less outragous when around people I don't know. But as I get to know them I will slowly ease on the profanity, outrageousness etc. But sometimes people can take serious offense to stuff like that, and it bugs me when I have to act all resitricted around people who are overly sensitive. But I am pretty good at getting to know people and how they are used to people acting, so it is usually not a problem, but it still bugs me. As you can tell, I get along well with people with a good sense of humor.

Anyhow, post away!

I hate being able to challenge scientific ideas with scientists, but not being able to challenge religion with the religious.

Also cotton wool on my skin...argh!

• Grammar and spelling nitpickers on the internet.
• Housemates who leave their dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher.
• Wikipedia.

People who use multiple exclamation marks really wind me up. You can make your point well enough by using just one of them at the end of a sentence, there really is no need to go all !!!!!!!!!! on us.

Multiple exclamation marks are the sign of an untidy mind, or something.

Aaargh! WET cotton wool!

And you should look up Russell's Teapot with regard to religion. It's funny.

Add this to my list:

• People who bid on eBay items when there is still days to go.

What is it about this that peeves you?

It drives up the price of the item and annoys those who are Level 10 Grand Master Snipers. They should just wait till the last few seconds and put in their highest bid!

There's a whole science thing behind it but I am too lazy to explain. Plus I am choking on some gum.

Add this:

• People who whistle bits of songs, over and over and over. It drives me absolutely crazy. Someone's mobile phone rings and another person starts whistling it over and over and over till my ears bleed.

People who ask about my pet peeves.

:D

How about this - the people in line in front of you that dont have the ***T together. Like the ones that don't know how to order at starbucks or the ones that get the the metal detector at the airport and then start taking $47 dollars worth of change out of 6 different pockets, plus 2 key rings, one of which looks like it has the keys for the Pentagon, plus a money clip....

grrrr

Oh, yeah, starbucks is a pet peeve

-People who poke the computer screen

-People talking or texting on their phone in class

-people using messenger/ichat/etc in class

-people who eat chips or carrot sticks in class

-way too much perfume/cologne...

-dirty fingernails with no real excuse

-people who dont wash hands after using washroom

-touchy feely huggy types who touch me.

Leaving doors open on a cold night.

Leaving doors open on a hot day when the AC is on.

People who do not replace the toilet paper rolls.

-people who eat chips or carrot sticks in class

Maybe the class is boring and they haven't eaten anything all day? I'm guilty of the above so I feel like I have to defend it, haha. :p

- Underwear hanging out of pants
- Nail biting

are two of my pet peeves. I have a ton more but I can't think of them right now.

People walking into my room when my door is shut, saying nothing worth listening to, then walking out and leaving the door open so I have to get up and close it.

People walking into my room while talking on the phone to somebody that isn't me or my roommate, never saying anything to use or ending the phone call, and walking out (happens way more than it should).

People telling me and my roommate about parties, asking us what we're doing instead. Then, even if the answer is "nothing," saying "alright later" and leaving.

That is so me! My mom does that all the time and i get pissed cuz I have to get up and close it every single time... gah

When people chew with their mouth open.
When people stare right at you for ever. Haven't you got other things to do?

ummm...

i.) hairy arms

ii.) anyone touching my face

iii.) people knocking on my door really hard and loud

what about this bothers you? they're already typing their notes anyway, so what's the big deal if they're chatting on aim?

its obvious they are not taking notes.
And I can see the reflection of their screens on their glasses so I can see it not note taking.
Doubly pisses me off when they come by after class or during office hours to ask me a question that the class spent 30 minutes discussing but they were busy texing with friends.
