I usually stay away from threads like this (AW, iPhone, iPad, MacBook) because at some time they'll turn into "recommendations" on how to preserve battery health and the obsession with that ...

According to Apple (https://www.apple.com/batteries/service-and-recycling/) the battery in the AW is designed to be at 80% for 1000 full charging cycles which means an average age of ~ 3-4 years, some more, some less.
Batteries in electronic devices are consumables, when it goes bad replace it.

Actual health depends on a lot of factors, incl daily usage, environment etc etc and typically, for AW, it stays at 100% for ~ 6-12 months, then slightly degrades typically faster than before over time.

But just for you @The Cockney Rebel I looked it up on my Sep 2023 launch day U2: 98%.
So, what to do with this data point? Frankly I have no idea ...

Ain’t a series 10 user here but a lurker here.
15 pro at 100% battery health bought back in January
Apple Watch Series 6 is at 91% battery health almost a year

I was just curious, as my M4 iPad Pro is down to 99%.

Where as my most used devices (Apple Watch & iPhone) are still at 100%.

Thanks for sharing.

I know you guys in the UK and in the EU have longer warranty coverage than us here in the US, but for my AWs I always get AC+, so if I keep the AW long enough, I'll get a refurb if health is <80%

Wow looking at some of these percentages for the Ultra 2, dont know what i'm doing wrong, probably working out too much.

My Ultra 2 (Feb 2024) - 96%
16 Pro (Dec 2024) - 100%

AWU2 charged only on 3rd day just an habit (average at 25-30% left) with original charging cable and an original apple usb-c charger . 3rd party charging stations somewhat skeptical on their reliability and efficiency, i can’t technically confirm just my skepticism. i workout 2 hours a day and use it has primary cellular all day long. my neighbor uses a 3rd party charging stand combo with 3rd party charger his ultra2 a month less older than mine is at 96% food for thought ❓

Quite fast for degradation…

My iPhone 15 Pro is also at 99% after I gave it 212 cycles and I only had it for months.

Since yesterday’s iOS 18.5 beta 4 release.

I set charge limit to 95%, do you do that on your iPad?
I don’t use charge limits.

I have automations on my iPhone and iPad that tells me when my battery is fully charged.

I use the charging brick that came with my MBA (the dual one, 35W I think?) to charge my iPad Pro. I bought the faster charger for my MBA.

Do you think I should use the standard 20W charging brick to charge my iPad Pro?

I workout 2/3 hours most days of the week and also have one of those stand combo charger stands but rarely use my watch on it as its so slow. I normally use the normal cable in a USB point on a walled plug socket but on occasions i use an iPad charging plug, maybe that's the problem causing the deg.

Dual port adapter and charge both your MacBook Air and iPad Pro with it?

Probs switch over to the 20 watt power adapter if you fear it’s charging too fast

as above in previous i cant technically confirm its just an observation when comparing to my neighbors, his use case maybe completely different or he charges it at every opportunity. myself just once every 3 days out of habit its not for any technical reason or concern

Yes.

And I’ve used it for hours every night.
I use my iPhone a lot and the days I put it off the charger are on weekdays at school.

I use it for up to 1.5 hours of video playback for fitness+.

But weirdly my AW series 6 battery health drops after updating to a certain beta.

What do you use your iPad Pro for? When you don’t want to use your MacBooks? 💻
