I understand that it's soldered onto the logic board, but curious to know the manufacturer. Anyone know? Would hate to have one that slows to a crawl over time..

What brand/type of SSD in the new Retina MBP?

i do know they said it was 500mbs faster than the anything in any current laptop. I had the samsung SSD in a desktop and it was beast.
Is that definite in each and every one or is Apple using multiple vendors as they have in the past with the Air SSDs and it's just luck of the draw?
More than likely not soldered. You can see the mSATA connector in various images (directly right of the SSD's flash chips).
But I agree with the above, probably a Samsung 830. Very nice!
Cool, I think you're right -- thanks for pointing that out. Maybe the SSD is upgradeable, but if its a Samsung 830 then there'd be no need to upgrade
Was disappointed at the selection of SSDs on the MB Airs, was hoping they chose more wisely on the new MBPs.
