I'm curious what browser most people are using. No doubt Safari will most likely be the most popular but I'm curious to see which comes in close second....

    ...and perhaps, why.

Safari. I own both icab and atomic as well but don't use them because they both have some annoying bugs. Safari does the job right mist of the time and the refresh I've gotten used to.

Small sample size but Safari seems to be the go to browser.

That's odd, with all the raving about Atomic on MR you would think Atomic.

    Yeah safari for me too,

I have atomic but for some reason I just keep banging on with safari, same as on my iMac I ignore all the others I even find Mozilla annoying on my iMac as I have to use it at work everyday on our windows pc.

i voted for atomic, but i use both that and safari.

safari for simple browsing (eg. what's the score to that hockey game?), and atomic for my thorough reading (eg. what's new on engadget/gizmodo/macrumors/etc) because of its use of tabbed browsing.

I use safari, too lazy to bother with anything else, unless something else has an ad blocker, I hate it that I can see ads on the ipad.

Most of the time right now I'm using the horribly named A+ Perfect Browser (which thankfully on the screen is just called "Browser"), because it is very fast and it has the killer option, "Open in background tab."

This browser, which does have its little kinks and quirks, comes closest to the experience of browsing the web on a "real" computer. The biggest problem, in my experience, is that the developer is so zealous about maximizing viewable screen space that the icons and controls are very scrunched-up and require concentration to tap.

My second choice is iCab, which has nostalgic value as a longtime alternate Mac browser — and has everyone noticed that it enables file downloads? I can't quite figure out what to do with the files when I've got them, but still.

Oh don't even start me on adverts.

I got rid of my TV so I could be without adverts and now only DL the shows I want to watch.

I think advertising is the equivalent of a moral cancer eating away at us all.

It makes children turn into nothing more than "I want" machines.

I realize advertisers are only doing there job and they also have families to provide for, but just keep it out of my line of sight.

    Rant over sorry.

Atomic. Leaps and bounds ahead of Safari. Cant live without tabs and gestures, and loads of other functions that should be in all browsers. Safari feels positively Fisher Price in comparison.

Safari. I've just not seen anything to compel me to use another browser. And having it sync with my Safari at home is a nice plus.

I use safari most of the time, but when I'm multitasking and want to quickly move between tabs, I use A1. I also have atomic but no longer use it regularly. If only A1 could sync tabs with xmarks I'd be all set.

I switch between Safari and iCab. There is a site I go to for a class I am taking that only works on Firefox 3, so iCab lets me spoof it as a Firefox browser and it works flawlessly.

However, 99% of my web browsing is done on Safari.

I use iCab all the time. I only ever fire up Safari if I get taken to it from another app that launches me into the default browser.

I'm curious about why iCab users still use Safari for stuff. There are probably quirks that I haven't realized are there, and maybe I shouldn't have asked because once people tell me about them then they'll probably bug me, but it's too late now.

Great poll by the way HappyDude, a pretty interesting and obvious one to run so well done for being the person to actually recognise that and go ahead and do it.

I own atomic browser, but I like Safari and Downloader. I also like safari because I can sync my bookmarks. I hate the reloading tho.

Using Atomic now, it sits in my dock instead of Safari.

iCab, Safaris lack of tab browsing make it unusable for me.

Safari for me. It just feels like apple. I have atomic which i do use but i hate the interface. Safari just feels right. I really hate reloading pages though but i believe it will improve.

That's exactly why I use iCab. Feels MUCH more Desktop Safari like then the iPad version.

surprising, once i used the other browsers I forgot about Safari.
tabs and gestures in the others are great, safari seems clunky now.
the others have a lot more settings and options than safari. I thought the new Safari was out or something with these poll results?..
