I've been cleaning out some stuff and came across an old wired Linksys router I purchased in 2001. It was used for DSL back then.

Is there any use for it or should I just chuck it away and get something newer if I ever need something in the future. Right now I live in an apartment, my U-verse modem is in a bedroom, and I'm not going to run cat6 cable all over on the floor.

It's 14 years old at best it'll be slow, just chuck it, or recycle it if you can.

Can use it as a switch if you need that many physical connections

I don't know why I didn't think of this. I currently have 3 desktop Macs. I have one in my bedroom, the other two are out of commission (I don't own a desk!!) in the 2nd bedroom. I can use this to help connect them all to the modem, especially if I get any more Macs (I really want a Power Mac G4). I think I'm going to test it to make sure it's fully functional.
