Only problem is that HD #2 can't be recoginized but I also have to check the memory because I thought I maxed it out. Anyway any upgrades or tweaks I can do? I use to do Final Cut but I got an M1 for that.

Click the (System Report...) button, and you can check the memory. What the system sees in each slot, vs what you see when you eyeball the processor tray.

You can bump the firmware to the latest 5,1 config (to version 144.0.0.0.0) which will increase your RAM bus speed to 1333 MHz - assuming your ram sticks are capable, and that you upgrade your CPU. Looks like you have a single-CPU tray, with original CPU. Plus the base-level graphics card.

Might I direct you to the Classic Mac Pro Upgrades Sticky for further ideas. If you upgrade your GPU, you'll want to consult the GPU Sticky also. Assuming you go past Mojave, you might use the OCLP graphics card page as well. I linked their AMD page, but they have nVidia and Intel pages too - see their sidebar.

Finally, you might need help doing the firmware upgrade. It was included in the Mojave updaters, so consult the upgrade-to-Mojave sticky.

I look and it was filled like I thought but the OS seems think there's an empty slot. what to do about it?

Determine which slot it is. Then unplug and reseat the invisible RAM stick. Boot up, see if it's seen again.

If it doesn't come back, swap sticks around. See if it's a bad stick, or a bad slot. You can replace a bad RAM stick fairly cheaply. If the slot is bad, I'd either ignore it, or order a dual-processor tray as an upgrade.
