I currently have the 2.4ghz 24inch Imac 300 gig HD, Radeon 2600 Pro with 4 Gigs of RAM. Im toying with the possibility of selling it on ebay or somewhere to get a Pro or Macbook Pro soon.

What can I realistically expect for it on Ebay or elsewhere? I spent about $2000.00 on it about 8 months ago. It's in mint shape and has 10.52?

I know its still a great machine, but im looking for either having a portable unit or with the Pro one that I can customize the video cards as they are offered..

here's a good start to find out how much it's roughly worth: http://www.mac2sell.net/ ... then i would bring it down a bit (maybe $100) because it's used, and maybe even more because it's not a current model.

If it's the Alum model I saw a 2.4 go for about $1,100 the day of the update. Just check e-bay there are lots of them on there.

If you want to know what you can expect to get for it on Ebay, research sold units ON Ebay.

If you have an Ebay account, just log in to your account.

Do a search for iMac 24" .... when the search results come in click in the box " Show Completed " .... here you can see what they actually sold for.

Look at the lowest price, than the highest price .... figure out why they got what they got, condition??? upgrades??? damage???

This is the only way to judge what you might get for it on Ebay.

Other sites may give you some estimated value, but bottom line your iMac is worth what someone is willing to pay for it at the time you sell it.

Yep... I WISH I could get what Mac2Sell says mine is worth!

I'm tossing around the idea of selling mine and my SR Macbook Pro and going in for either the 3ghz imac or a Pro.

You will heavily miss that portability if you get rid of your mbp. ;)

Yeah... that is true. Plus the MBP is such a gorgeous machine. Perhaps the 3ghz iMac and an Air would be a nice combo... :D

    I actually have a 15" MBP 2.4GHz w/ 4GB RAM,
and though the portability IS nice,
I definitely miss my 24" iMac, so I think I'm gonna sell the MBP and buy another one.

    White one though.
    No Aluminum.
    ...stupid backlight bleed.

Lol, I know how you feel because since I've sold my mac pro that's on my sig I sometimes miss the desktop prowess...

I have a feeling you get rid of your mbp and the 24" imac is very welcomed for a good month then you will heavily miss that portability. That's what happened when I decided to sell my mbp and to keep the mac pro only.. its awesome for a while... but sometimes you really really miss laying down to use your computing or changing scenery..

Then I bought both a mbp + mac pro.. then felt its a bit wasteful since I neglect 95% of the time one or the other, while 100% of the time either the mbp or the mac pro will be do just fine for what I do..

So in the end since I owned a 23" ACD and selling the mac pro will get me the most $$ back into my bank and the 2.5Ghz mbp can do everything that I want to do and then some so I use it like a desktop and go mobile when I get tired of the desktop setup. :D
