Considering a new 5s is $549 for 16 GB and $599 for 32 GB, $200-300 less (with no tax) isn't unreasonable for a 5 with 64GB.

My point was that Apple was quoting me $205. I thought at most I would get for my iPhone 5 (which has no scratches or dents, I babied the thing) was $250 off of ebay. But between the headaches, the seller's fee, the shipping and handling, I would be glad to sell it at the Apple Store for $205, especially since it was going towards a new iPhone anyway.

Now, there was a previous poster who gave great advice. Don't sell your iPhone for less than you think. If you think it's worth $350, you should try and get $350.

Sold my 64GB Verizon (unlocked) iPhone 5 for $300 on Craigslist the day after I got my 6 Plus.

I probably could have gotten a little more on eBay, but I like the quick, local transactions with cash in hand.

Hey all,

I'm sure I'm not the first (nor the last) to start one of these threads. I have a iPhone 5 and I'm curious about what the resale value would be for it. I went to Best Buy and they rated my phone as in "poor" condition and told me I'd get $101 for it. My phone has a bunch of scuffs around the corners. There is a tiny series of cracks in the glass close to the lens. Otherwise, everything is in good working order. How much do you estimate I can get on eBay or elsewhere?

Dan

Not to sound rude, but why can't you do the research? In the time you spent formulating this thread, you could have easily searched the completed and sold auctions on ebay for your particular phone.

Buck up soldier, I know you can do it.

i would go to apple, but what will i use a 200 card for? Can i use it to buy another iPhone?

Also i still have no bids its on 4 days left. I don't get it. 199.99 is a great price the phone has no scratches on front or back only some on the bezel from the case. and its unlocked factory. Comes with original box, charger headphones a case. ugh!

No you weren't be rude. I did, however, do research. I came here for corroboration (+ side advice) because I was a little incredulous at the prices some of the older phones with cracked screens had sold for on eBay.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I will probably wait a little while to upgrade. I'm also not sure if I want the 6 or the 6+. I like my 5 though -- it's been a long road, all its scratches and scuffs are like a patina -- I may just stick with it until it succumbs.
