What can my iPhone 5S do that I may not know?

Hi guys

I upgraded from an iPhone 3G (not even 3GS just 3G!) to an iPhone 5S and wanted to ask what can this new phone do that I may not know about?

For example I just discovered the "Do not disturb" mode.

What else.

Fingerprint scanner to unlock and purchase/download apps. A7 processor, second processor to handle movement apps such as nike plus.

Better camera, ios7 with latest features as you said DND. Handy control panel to swipe up to turn off wifi BT etc..

Bigger screen..
 
Going from a 3G (which maxed at iOS 4.2.1) to an iPhone 5S on iOS 7 is a crazy jump.

The newer hardware:

* crazy faster CPU and GPU. think about it like the jump from a PS1 to PS3.
* you have 8 times as much RAM
* camera flash!
* HD video recording
* better battery
* retina display!
* compass and gyroscope
* Glonass / improved GPS
* improved 3G and LTE radio
* improved WiFi

OS-wise, besides iCloud and Find my iPhone, you would want to check out changelogs on Wikipedia or something. iOS 4 to 5 got like 200 new features, iOS 5 to 6 got like 200 new features, and iOS 6 to 7 got like 200 new features.

It looks different than iphone 3.
 
Wouldn't it be more fun to figure it out yourself?

Is like we telling you what's in the novel.

Can tell you what still doesn't do:

Siri stuck in Beta.
Can't control TV wo an external accessory.
Still require media to be in Apple's narrow formats.
 
Everyone forgets the future where you can shot a video at 120 FPS aka slow motion

I also upgraded from the 3G (which still works, that thing is a tank, replaced battery one time). The 5S is so fast and great compared to the 3G. However, I am glad the 3G lasted (and still does! ) as long as it has. It's so funny to think of when I sent a text with the 3G I would have already typed a complete sentence and like 2-3 seconds later the sentence would appear. That thing was SLOW.

I have an ipad 3, and I'm sorta upset with the ios7 on it, I can tell a big difference in the speed of apps, visiting websites, etc. (only apple product, that I'm sorta upset with at the moment)

Even my MacBook Pro with the silver keyboard is a tank. and I'd go through broken PC laptops like every couple years (like broken mother boards, etc). MBP is still a beast (I did upgrade the hard drive to 500 GB and doubled the RAM myself though and of course I have been through 2 batteries and will probably replace the current one pretty soon)

Apple is expensive compared to a lot of comparable things, but I sorta feel in the long run, if you take care of them, they will last longer and you will come out ahead financially. Just my opinion. Or maybe I just have good luck with their products.

Not strictly 5s, but a little-known feature is that if you do some typing in Notepad and realise you've messed up, shaking the phone gives you the option to undo your typing.

This has been a feature for undoing any kind of text anywhere on the iPhone for several years now. You can also select only parts of the text you just typed to undo and then shake the phone to undo the selected part.
 
Oh yeah, you also have Facetime in general now. It's like video calling from iPhone to iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch/iMac. Plus, autocorrect has gone a long way since then.
