True Tone is one of those subtle things once you really get used to you can't live without. Other iPads look downright harsh in comparison. The biggest thing seems to be the True Tone display. I've yet to see one in person but people rave about it.

Why are you so keen on Touch ID you realize that it is less safe than a 4-digit pin
Alex, get Real. No court is going to be able to get an order to force you to unlock a device before the (max) 24-hour period is up, where you're required to enter your PIN.It can be fooled. A court can force you to unlock with your finger print. But its much tougher to force you to give up a PIN.
1. I want a new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil that will allow a different method of charging.
2. Switch to USB-C.
3. Buttons on the Apple Pencil that can be mapped to applications or settings (favorite eraser or highlighter, for example)
Yeah in the meantime his cool smart tv and other devices hear everythingAlex, get Real. No court is going to be able to get an order to force you to unlock a device before the (max) 24-hour period is up, where you're required to enter your PIN.
And if your seriously concerned about courts + finger prin, you have much bigger concerns than which iPad you should choose.

Looks like someone can't read properly. This is true about Tru-Tone display being exclusive to the 9.7 iPad Pro. However, you mentioned you yet to see anybody rave about it. Where I have seen most seem to appreciate it, is if those who experience eyesight issues or eyestrain.
Mainly being the Pro has four ambient sensors that adapt to the color and intensity of the display in the environment in your in.
Rumor is, Tru-Tone display is allegedly going to make its way to the iPhone as well. I also assume it will be used across the iPad Pro line eventually.
I'll be honest when I saw the 9.7" iPad Pro and all its features above and beyond that on the 12.9" I said to myself it's a must buy. The feature and value increase over the Air 2 was an order of magnitude. So now looms the iPad Pro 2.
Ignoring, a faster CPU and more RAM, which are by default a given.
Can we try and think of 1 or 2 features the 2017 iPad Pro 2 can possibly offer ?
causing the iPad Pro to be an 80% laptop replacement device with iOS.
Only way I purchase a new iPad Pro (and none of this will happen) maybe in 2018
#1. A11X Quad Core CPU (because an A10X will have little benefit over the A9X)
#2. 4GB DDR4 RAM
#3. USB-C fast charging.
#4. 4K HDR OLED Display.
#5. They gave us Keyboard Use, now we need Full Mouse Capability let me pair a Bluetooth Mouse please.
#6. Bluetooth 5.0 (the Galaxy 8 has Bluetooth 5.0 if the 2017 iPAd Pro does not it's an instant pass)
I fully understand what you were saying. I was just indicating that I've seen quite a few forum members mentioned that it's rather nice feature for those have experienced it.

I'm sure most people here have never had an issue with Ipad and water...thats a waste of time..keep the headphone jack..no true reason not to.I think the new Pros could lose the headphone jack just because they may be waterproof. I would sacrifice the port for BT 5.0 and water resistance. At the end of the day, a work environment can be dusty and moist and I always get to worry about my tools.
Another thing (long shot, but let me) they could add is a 3D camera to use the iPad for augmented reality. I would love an iPad that could scan the floor plan of a house just by walking inside it!

Why do you still think the 9.7" iPad Pro will continue to be in the flagship lineup? I have been saying since day one, almost a YEAR ago now that the 10.5" will replace the 9.7" in the iPad Pro lineup. I thought people had understood this by now, as many others have later said it too but clearly not. The 9.7" Pro may stay around as a low cost option, and may even get a spec bump but that's it.If they did release an iPad Pro 2 (9.7) at WWDC would it be released then? Or do you think it's more plausible that a simultaneous iPhone 8 release in the fall with possible USB-C?
They are not losing the headphone jack this year, and I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it next year too.I think the new Pros could lose the headphone jack just because they may be waterproof. "If"? I still don't understand it when people don't believe anything until it's announced, but never mind. It will be released, and based off my information the bezels won't be as thin as you think. I think having it in matte black would be amazing, and while I would like a jet black model the scratches make it less appealing. I don't think we'll see jet black but I'm looking forward to a matte black iPad Pro.I would be tempted to buy if the rumored 10.5 inch with thinner bezels comes out. I would be even more tempted if it comes in Matte or Jet black with the fingerprint reader under the screen but that's probably hoping for too much for the next upgrade.
Waterproof is a meaningless term without further specification.Completely disagree. If they were water proof then they could be dishwasher safe. Now don't you feel silly?
Waterproof is a meaningless term without further specification.
Ip68 is waterproof for 30min in 1 ft of water.
But that is still standing water carefully lowered in with an equal temperature of 20c throughout the 30 minutes.
In a dishwasher everything gets at least 65C but often even 85C so air inside your device will expand and seals will leak a bit air out. No harm there, yet.
When the dishwasher starts to rinse with cold water a vacuum could occur inside the waterproof device, basically sucking water in, because the under pressure of a vacuum is easily much bigger then the pressure of 1ft of water.
So even your ip68 waterproof device might very well get damaged inside a dishwasher, even when there is just water sprayed on...
