This one really baffles me. I have a set of first generation AirPods Pro. From time to time you can hold the case open right next to it for five minutes, press all the buttons in the world and they just would refuse to connect.

Wait about an hour and everything seems to be fine as if nothing happened.

This never happens to any other Bluetooth device either like my car or AirPods Max.

It's just technology - just unpredictable.

I've had that happen. If you remove the Airpods then put them back in the case it seems to help.

The experience with AirPods lately has been so miserable when this keeps happening, it feels like the most Un-Apple Apple product. This is something I would expect out of a Microsoft product. Not Apple.

Yeah I don't know what happened in the past few months. Either iOS update or firmware.

My APP2 will always connect properly to my iPhone, but will only switch/handoff to my watch if the phone is out of bluetooth range.
Otherwise I have to toggle BT on the watch to connect properly. PITA!

My solution has been to make the Airpod Pro case do a Pac-man impression for a few seconds
it seems to wake up eventually

Don't even think about trying to hand off from a Mac to an iPhone. It will choose the device you are not using just because it wants to piss you off. Ugh, I sometimes feel like I need to go back to wired.
