I haven't really figured out what cloud storage service I should go with. I've been using Dropbox since 2011, and uploaded basically everything I have to the cloud (movies I've made when I was younger, old VHS cassettes, and all of my pictures). But, I find that I never looked at my pictures, because they where stored away in folders in my Dropbox, and I never had a good way to organize them.
When iCloud Photo Library was released in April, I bumped up my storage plan to 200GB and uploaded all my photos to Apple Photos. I love the way it organize all my photos, and I defiantly prefer this way over folders in Dropbox. The next time I buy a new iPhone, I will also buy a 128GB so that I can download all my pictures directly to my iPhone.
However, the big problem with iCloud is the lack of selective sync. I have a ton of old DV/VHS movies on my Dropbox, and they are to big to be stored locally on my 128GB Macbook Air. So right now I have no other choice than to pay for both 200GB iCloud and 1TB Dropbox. I wish that Apple would include selective sync in the near future.
