I'm seeing random tiny indents on the back of my saddle brown leather case. Like it's caused by a pin or sand particles pressed against it. Is this common?
Yes. Depending on the severity, though, slighter indents tend to wear themselves somewhat evenly over time and become less noticeable.

Does the white or black silicone case get shiny over time? I've seen some cases where the corners seem to peel and/or get shiny as if there is more wear in those spots.

Not sure how common it is or if it only happens to cases that are abused more often.

I’ve had the white silicone and been using it for 3 weeks and it’s good as new. No dust or lint stuck to the back either.

i ended up with saddle brown...
i always wanted a dark apple leather case .. im always getting the black one since iphone 6 days... and returning it after 2days... i find it slippery ....

now i tried saddle brown for the first time...
after few days... im liking it... grip is improving as i use it....

I’m using the Spicy Orange Silicone Case now, but I’m going to return it — it’s not “Orange” enough, especially compared to my original Orange Sport Band.

I prefer it over Apricot, but it’s too muted. Next to the darker side button, volume rocker and Apple logo, it looks like the rest of the Case was made of different material which faded quicker. Actually Faded Orange is an apt name. Or maybe Mild Orange; or Orange Sherbet.

Picked up spicy orange today. And you’re correct. It is more muted than I expected. I actually like that about it, but if I had been expecting something as vibrant as the photos, I would have been let down.

I saw the blue cosmo in person at the apple store, & while I thought I initially wanted it, I like the cobalt blue better.

The spicy orange did appear to be toned down more........but that's what I also discovered about the cosmo blue. It appeared more muted in person.

I knew full well the Spicy Orange was muted. I checked them out before buying it. What I couldn’t tell was how it would look away from the indoor spotlights in the Apple Store. Turns out it sorta bugged me looking at the thin frame around the iPhone X’s screen. Too Peachy or Salmon for me.

Here’s a pic I took after returning mine this morning. Note the difference between the two just due to the angle of the light.

Yeah, the stores indoor lighting plays a role. Curious to see what it looks in traditional sunlight.

Even looking at the photo, that's how the cosmo blue looked yesterday when I saw it. Quite different that the photos on the website.

TBH, I have no idea what they are and if they're the same below the Spicy Orange and Flash in the photo! I would've been happy with the darker Orange above, but not the one on the left.

in my experience, the darker shade of the silicone is usually the more prevalent shade (when I had the ultra violet for example, or the red)

ymmv

What do you mean? When viewing in person or on Apple's website? The one I didn't like and returned looked like the left most one in my photo.

Taken under fluorescent lights with my iPad, but...it gives an idea. Might try taking a couple outside in the natural light tomorrow to compare.

The 3 “blues” below are actually all different. They are (from left to right) blue cosmo, colbalt blue, & midnight blue.

Yes, and at the top it's actually Spicy Orange and Product Red. Two different cases.

LOL. If you’re referring to my pic, on the top it’s Spicy Orange, Spicy Orange and Flash!

As I mentioned before, just the angle of the light makes a difference!
