White hasn't been cool since it was a 16 gig exclusive.

Then it became girly.

Then it became a sign of people who got the 4S which means they weren't there from the beginning because real iPhone veterans didn't qualify for an upgrade until lately this year. So if you had the white, you were either gay or a newbie to Apple products or the product cycle (embarrassing..) so now I feel that will carry over and that means I am sticking with black which is manlier than ever. Maybe next time around white might become cool again and come back in fashion... Maybe. For now too many people ruined it and gave white a bad rep. Saw too many fruity seeming dudes with it and the rest is all girls. It's too forced to get white.

In b4 someone says just get the color you like...

It's not that simple...

Of course they won't name it the 4SL, but it'll be the 4SL in spirit. A huge let down IMO, I was hoping for a re-design. I'm sure someone will bleat on about how it is a re-design because of it's slightly different form factor and it'll have better internals etc, but IMO the UI is tired and the design is tired. Come on Apple you can do better.

Finally someone on these forums with a brain. Apple terribly needed a re-design. I guess they just Did it for the money it seems. :( It's also pretty obvious they're gonna call it " the new iPhone", just like they did with the iPad 3.

It's shame that so many people are still going to buy it, rewarding profiteering instead of innovation. Anyway each to their own, this certainly isn't going to convince me to come back to iOS.

Get what you want. Don't let some stupid color thing make you get something you won't enjoy

Oh, and it is that simple

I completely agree and will most likely do the same. I will wait until Apples official release and see what tricks they have under their sleeve to pull of this unjustified re-release of the iPhone 4. ;)

iOS is unsasisfactory, and just too far behind in terms of customization, compatability, physical aspect, and giving the customers what they really want. It's really a shame Apple decided to release the same phone 3 years later.

Yep, I owned the 3G, 3GS and 4. When the 4S came out it was a big disappointment to me (yes I know the 3G --> 3GS was similar but at the time the iPhone was easily the best thing on the market), so I switched to the Galaxy Nexus running ICS, now running JellyBean. What a cracking OS, so much more customisable and so many more functions available to developers.

Sure the apps are a little less polished, but there are a number of apps that just can't be done on iOS that now I would find hard to live without. I'm not a fanboy, so am open to any platform, I just go with the best hardware and software combination, and it looks like that's still going to be an Android phone after the 4SL comes out.

Most likely going to be purchasing the Galaxy SIII if I had a choice between that and the new iPhone, because I'm on Verizon. It just looks so much better and so much more usable! My iPhone 4s screen size is way to small, and now Apple decides to strech the phone, and keep the same design factor? No thanks...

I don't think you'll regret it. My phone is a similar form factor to the S3 and I gotta say, I love the screen. Whenever I use my wife's iPod it seems tiny, I could never go back (but I do have big hands).

The only real irk is the loss of money in having to change eco-system, but you'll soon get over that once you're in love with the darkside.

The new wave of Androids are really making it sink or swim for the iPhone. I hope this means they come up with something special or they might lose the market on their bread and butter device.

I think they'll sell more than ever. Not sure why though, it's hard to put your finger on why people pay more for an inferior product. I'd put it down to a mixture of ignorance, fanboyism, vanity and MARKETING. However, I must say, that in a number of cases the iPhone probably is the best phone available for that person, everyone is different and has different needs.

product red. If available first week.

YES YES YES.

Actually, make it in loads of colors. Like the iPod nano/mini, but perhaps a little more tasty. I could see myself buying deep blue or orange (yes, orange).

Never understood why it just had to be black or white.

It will sell more than ever but if it remains on par with Android then it'll eventually lose the dominance it gained. Hopefully Apple pulls out something game changing!

Same! I was convinced the 4S line would have colours but it wasn't to be :(

ok haha. I wasn't sure if you were being serious or just using that name b.c it kinda makes sense :)

dude you sound as if you were touched indecently as a child.

Anway, I had the first iphone, every iphone after that, and I have a white iphone 4s. I bone chicks on the regular. White rover, white husky, white iphone. boom, that just happened.

Both of my previous iPhones were black, and until I see the "official" launch photo's I won't know. I might get a white one to mix it up.

The two tone (with aluminum taking up most of the area) should make it less "girly."

If you're on the fence and like to upgrade yearly, there's no reason not to get one in each color as they'll likely stick with this design for the next two years. Get one color this year and the other color next year.

Unconvinced about iPhone 6 but if i do get one it'll be in black. I've done white and i'm over it now.

I had the original iPhone, a black 3G, a black 4 and a white 4s. I just wanted to see what white was like but IMHO white is much cleaner and less finger prints but black looks the most sleek and since the new iPhone will have a unibody I'll be getting the black one!

Funny I thought your sexual interest decides your sexual orientation not what color phone/bumper you have.

Judging by the factor that you care so much about what's "in style" your not exactly proving your point

Last many people prefer to get the phone they like with the highest level of specs; rather than what looks newest.

real iPhone veterans remember having the only choice of memory size; "E" was a good thing to see on the screen
