hello there,

In about two months, I'm planning to buy an iPhone 6s Plus. I currently have a 5s in space grey. I'm torn on the choice of colour however. Normally, I always buy everything in black/space grey, but I think it is time to change things up. I'm currently pondering if I should get the gold or space grey. I've heard some people say that the black glass is more immersive, but in my experience the black screen gets dirty very fast. What are your experiences with the colours and which ones fit better with cases and things like that. I'm planning on buying a apple leather case in midnight blue.

I would think that if you are going to get a leather case in midnight blue, I would definitely get an iPhone that has a white front. But that's just my opinion. Others will differ. But I have space gray model and I always like the front that is black.

I've always gone with the black but have been tempted to get the silver and white. Never managed to pull the trigger on that yet though. I might get there with the iPhone 7!

Exact same situation here indeed. Really like the gold, but I also have always had everything in black, iPhone, iPad you name it.
Guess I'll visit the Apple Store soon to view both colours in person and compare them

Has to be a white front with a blue case, so either silver or one of the golds.

I would have my 6S+ in an Otter case, so color was/is no biggie. I purchased a black colored one, and later learned through the Lirum Info app that the CPU processor is manufactured by TSMC, … if this is a note to wonder if the least glamorous models are all the same to you. Some say it is the "better" manufacturer.

Get a glittery purple......

I went with white front for the first time (gold 6S+) and I don't think I ever want a black phone again.

Yes, but I believe that there is no way to know which manufacturer you have before buying the phone?

That looks absolutely hidious in my opinion ;)

I've always had black iPhones since the 3GS. I finally bought a white/silver one when the iPhone 6 came out. I liked it but for me personally, the white bezels became a little distracting while I was watching videos/movies. Changed back to black for my 6s Plus and love it!

Wow, that looks slick. That and a gold with black front would be the two models that I would like to see Apple make one time. The black iPhone 5 will always be the best looking iPhone, and that one looks he most like that one.
You can get that if you want - for an additional $300.

There is a firm in La Puente, California called Neucase that replaces your stock casing with one in the colors you specify. That's the firm that did the phone in the picture above (I posted that pic in the other thread that was mentioned). The casing is the same as stock, but they anodize the metal with your color choice (and you can also chose the antenna band colors).

For warranty purposes they send you your original casing back (you have to send them your phone).

If you're going to have it in a case then the case doesn't matter except as it pertains to the bezel. I went with the white case a couple of iPhones ago and since then I haven't used anything else. Even my iPads including my iPad Pro, that I'm writing this on, has a white bezel.

However only you can decide what is right for you, certainly not a group of unseen strangers on a Internet forum. Even on as nice as this one.

Does this void your warranty? Thank you

Yes. That's why they ship you back your old case. You can have someone switch it out and take it in for warranty purposes.
Wow.....pay $300 for a new case color, void warranty, have company switch out guts of phone to new back casing. Then if something goes wrong have next door neighbor kid take phone apart, put guts into old case, so you can take into Apple and cheat on warranty. Have Apple fix it, then have neighbor kid open up phone again and switch back guts to special painted case. Seems like a lot of effort to have a special colored backside. Hope you don't hide it in a case after all that.

Is that good for the phone to switch out the guts so many times? You do know it's the screen side you look at to use the phone right?

I have yet to do this myself, so I couldn't answer that.

It's not something I would do while still under the first year warranty while leasing my current phone. It IS something I would do after the first year warranty is up. It's something I'd take advantage of for my iPhone 5 if it wasn't already Black/Slate.

But my wait to try this is at least another two years. I plan on getting the 7 this year and it will take a year before the warranty expires on it.

But for someone who is in the position to do this (and there are a few people here on MR that did do this) it's a neat option.

I just wish I could do it - but I can't yet for the reasons I specified.

I couldn't stand using an old phone after I got one or two iterations further on. Think this is for people where spending $1,400 on a second phone is meaningless as they have money to burn, and friends to one up on with unique phone. Sadly that's not me, ho hum, maybe buy another lottery ticket, 1.3 Billion for Wednesday's mega jackpot powerball. Odds are more likely to get hit twice by lightning, but what the hell, I feel lucky.

Yeah, it's not me either, except for the older phone part.

I have several Macs at home and only one of them is an Intel Mac, circa 2006. I like old Macs and I keep my old phones. Right now my 5 is a media device. When we (my wife and I) finally get back on track on the numbered upgrade path the iPhone 7 will be the next phone that lasts us 2.5 to 3 years as our primary phones and then gets moved down to being a media device.

I really wish they would offer another combo with a black bezel. I had space gray in my 6 Plus, but switched to gold on my 6S Plus. I covered up the white bezel with a matching gold glass screen protector, which I like better than the white.

I had nothing but black since the 3g and tried the white/gold 5s and it became apparent really quick that I could not give up the black front. Went back to space gray with the 6+
