Alright, I know there is a stickied voice control thread already, but the purpose of this thread is to see what YOU would like to see added to voice control.

Here are a few that I came up with that I feel are a must have:
-Play Song ...
-Search for ... (using the new spotlight feature)
-What time is it?
-Start recording voice memo ...
-Launch ... (application)
-Where am I? (read back the address given for current location in google maps)

A few that are a bit of a stretch, but would be cool:
-Google Voice Search integration
-Give me directions to ... (Address, Business Name, etc.)

Annnd... changes to current commands
-If music is playing, give an option to make the music soft (volume) instead of completely stopping the music to receive a command.

-If music is playing and you say "Genius" or "Play more songs like this", don't skip the currently playing song, but let the song finish out. Or better yet, ask if you want to continue listening to the current song or skip to the next one.

Anyway, post any creative ones that you have ideas for.

The google mobile app already has voice search functions. Vingo too.

For Voice commands, I'd like to see 2 more than others: Activate/deactivate Bluetooth.

(OK, 3). Pair with *Name*.

And Activate/deactivate Airplane mode.

i agree with all of these with exception to google voice but only because i dont use it.

-The Ability to play songs from your general music and not a specific playlist

i am always having to update a playist to add the songs from my general music lybrary so that i can play all those songs as apposed to just 50 or so of the songs on a playlist.

i think it'd be cool if they had speech to text technology put in. Say you,re driving and you open the SMS app. Now, if you activate voice command in that app, you will be activating speech to text..

Also a "cook dinner" command would be nice...

Dunno about the cook dinner command... but if they did have one, I don't think we would ever have a chance to get an iPhone because they would be sold out 24/7/365 :p

The speech to text would be a great feature, and I was going to put that in, but then I realized it would probably be hard/improbable for Apple to implement it.

I don't really use this much, but it would be cool if installed apps could install their own voice control commands to launch their application (since it can't run in the background) and then do the action said. Of course, combine this with the "launch <app>" command.

Those would be cool, but...

They could really do some even cooler things. Like typing out messages for you.

"Send email to johnappleseed@me.com subject this afternoon body hey john comma how are you doing question mark just wondering if you were up for joining me for lunch this afternoon period"

How cool would that be? Have a read-back feature at the end so you know you sent it to the right person. You could get even more advanced and say "Reply to John Appleseed email most recent... etc."

Same applies for text messaging.

A Palm phone offered this, but it was a paid subscription. Having it on the iPhone would be amazing, and quite easily doable.

Not only would this be amazing, but as an assistive technology for site impared users along with VoiceOver this would be pretty darn awesome.
