Greetings everyone!

I'm new (here ) & to using iTunes on a computer with my iPhone. (yep, had one for almost 2 years before having my own, lol -I used another's for these updates...)

I've transfered my purchases & pics from my ol' 3G to be safe, & realize its just "media" (music, vids & photos) that gets deleted, but WHAT exactly will be lost?

-Will my YouTube favorites be lost?
(I've been using the iPhone saved favorites, as I've had a long-time sign-in issue there...)
-Voice memos?
-Notes?

Can anything be salvaged?

Thanks!
:)

If all your music and videos and photos on your iphone is on your computer then you are safe.

the backup process will copy over all of your notes, contacts, txtmsgs, favorites, app data, etc... to your computer. The backups do not contain music videos or photos. But it does remember what songs you had and copy those over from your pc to your phone.

The update will wipe your phone clean however it should put everything back the way you had it. But just in case if it doesn't then you have the backups including all the songs, videos, and pics on your computer to transfer back
