What day do you think the iPhone 4 will start shipping?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday? Does anyone remember how many days on average before the 3G S launch they started to give out tracking numbers?

My 3gs Shipped on Tuesday last year....

So Monday, if they want to give it at least three days to make it.

You're going to get it on the 24th if you made the cutoff for the pre-orders. Why obsess over when it will ship? Even those who have theirs showing "prepared for shipment" won't get it until the 24th.

Don't get me wrong - I want mine ASAP too, but...

They could start shipping this week. They ask FedEx to hold it for delivery on the 24th.

Probably Monday. FedEx will hold them until Thursday, of course. I don't think its worth losing your job over giving someone their iPhone on Wednesday.

I would think since they are most likely going to ship from Shenzhen that they would ship on Monday or Tuesday. I remember the 3G S went through some hub in Alaska before arriving in the lower 48.

Not to pull a Clinton, but it depends on what you mean by "shipping". From the factory, from a distribution center, from a shipper's hub... It's an interesting question but as long as it's on a truck headed towards my house on 6/24 I'm good. Per another thread, it would be interesting to track airplanes and their deliveries beginning from the manufacturer.

Not to pull a Clinton, but it depends on what you mean by "shipping". From the factory, from a distribution center, from a shipper's hub... It's an interesting question but as long as it's on a truck headed towards my house on 6/24 I'm good. "Shipping" means that you have a tracking number and can start to see the progress of where the phone is.

Last year I think there were some already in country while a lot came straight from China. This is for apple.

My guess for att is that apple ships them to att (in country) then att ships to you.

I can confirm. Mine shipped from Texas via UPS ground. Most pre-orders shipped from China though via FedEx.

With the relatively short pre-order to launch day window I suspect Apple has a lot of phones already in US warehouses.

Actually I think UPS handled the shipments from China. They did mine at least.
